Daley Freaks Out!!!

Did he honestly just say not to call the police if your neighbor is shooting at you with an AK-47?
So, now the cops don't have to do their jobs, is that what he's trying to say?
Trust me, you don't WANT to call the Chicago PD, and a lot of people won't.

The fact that until very recently, there was a home invasion/burglary/kidnapping ring operating WITHIN the Chicago PD should give you some indication of why he doesn't want citizens to be armed. It would present a real danger to police engaged in criminal enterprises.

The incorporation question was rightly kept for later. It was not at issue in this case. The courts are not supposed to make decisions about issues that are not before them.

And the reason it was not at issue is that the pro-gun folks deliberately sought out a non-state law so that question would not have to be decided. This was a 5-4 decision. If it had required a decision on incorporation, I bet it would have gone the other way. If you ask for too much, sometimes you get nothing.

Remember that Brown v. Board of Education was not the first anti-segregation case. The NAACP and others gradually built up to that.

"A central purpose of that Amendment was to protect the States against the threat to their sovereignty posed by the power of the federal government to raise and maintain a standing army," it said.

It continues: "The frontier is gone. In domestic matters and international affairs, state militias have been displaced by organized police forces, the National Guard, and the federal military. And criminals with firearms--especially handguns--wreak havoc in American cities."

Didn't that line of crud just get flushed or are they in so indoctrinated they can not do anything else but repeat their mantras?

INDIVIDUAL RIGHT SKIPPIES!!!! The militia only and collective la la la fantasy is dead.

I personally believe Chicago will be the test case for incorporation. Should be an interesting ride.

I have said it before and will say it again.
TRUST NO One who come out of the greater Chicagoland area and calls themselves a politician!
These are extremely wealthy people who make their fortune and fame off the backs of usually miserable and hard working people.

I don't care how charming these politicians are they are not interested in your best interests.
And the really crazy thing is people in Chitcago just absolutely LOVE these people!

These fine citizens HAVE to work three jobs, that is the ones who actually work and not the ones who suck the state dry on the welfare roles, anyway they have to work three jobs just to get by and make the average $!500.00 a month rent payment for a two bedroom cockroach infested apartment.

They have no time for themselves but by God they are living in CHICAGO!
Too stupid or blind to realize that they are little more than indentured servants.

People love to complain or make fun of the gun laws up there but believe you me, the whole mess goes waaaaay deeper than that.

Excellent points. ;)

This ruling did exactly what it was intended to, overturn the D.C. gun ban and reconfirm the 2nd amendment right to keep and bear arms as an individual right.

Anybody who was thinking it was going to overturn the NFA and GCA, as well as legalize machine guns and other highly regulated arms, and strike down all state and local laws pertaining to the regulation of firearms---obviously didn't understand it from the get-go.

Make no mistake about it, Heller is a VICTORY for our side. Most of the people who are claiming that it "doesn't go far enough", had unrealistic expectations about it in the first place.

"Can you see everyone having guns in their home?" Mayor Daly
I guess we need something to cling to after church. :)

I heard on 890 WLS that ISRA and NRA filed suits against Chicago 15 minutes after the ruling was announced.

LET'S ROLL!

The California state supreme court overturned the San Francisco handgun ban in April. Today the SCOTUS overturned the D.C ban. That puts Chicago at the top of the list! :p

City officials expressed confidence the city would prevail in any court challenge, asserting, among other things, that the 2nd Amendment as part of the Bill of Rights restricts the federal government and does not apply to state and local governments.

Those f'in commies!!
Lead 'em to the gallows, I say!!
Even in the face of a SCOTUS decision stating that they are all washed up, they continue their elitist, commie propaganda!!
Hang 'em all!!

I saw a couple daley videos earlier and it did seem like he blew a fuse. I really would have expected a prepared PR statement but it seemed more like a nut ranting about end times.

can anybody make since out of this garbage?
"We've shown time and time again how many children have been killed in their homes by guns," he said. "Parents are away, they get the gun. Parents are away, the child takes the gun, runs out in the street and has an argument, comes back and shoots somebody."

He's trying to imply that the violence from rampant gangland crime in a handful of communities is actually caused by sweet little Timmy, who walks old ladies across the street -- the son of some dirty, stinking legal gun owner -- finding the gun and using it to kill some CPS class valedictorian over a dispute involving a baseball card.

Of course the facts are that 80 percent of the shooters and over 70 percent of the victims have extensive criminal records, but that gets in the way of his deflecting attention from his failed leadership and almost total focus on just the best areas of the city while simply hoping those problem neighborhoods would just fade away.

Daley is terrified that once the removal of the ban results in no increase, or even a decrease, in crime that he will be exposed as the little man behind the curtain that he is.

Anyone hear the kids in the playground in the background of the video, screaming? I wonder... could they have deliberately done that to make us think of the children?

lol I would love to watch him debate a competent 2nd amendment advocate, he would lose his cool - then go nuts. He would be crushed and it would be hilarious.
