DAN WESSON .22lr

I recently stumbled upon a Dan wesson .22lr revolver in my grandfathers house. Its been sitting in one of the old iceboxs that they had before refrigerators. He had had it in there so long he had forgot he had it anyway its a double action its fairly heavy. I would guess its a target one but I don't know its in exellent condition not a scratch on it and no rust no dings no nothing. Serial number if I rember right was 13151. any idea what its worth or info on it would be appriciated.

I don't have acess to it know but just guessing it was at least six inches. I have know idea what shroud configuration is. and don't know what the tool is

On the Dan Wessons the barrel and shroud are removable. The shroud slides over the barrel and is secured to the frame by a barrel nut. This keeps tension on the barrel and the result is a very accurate revolver. In order to remove the barrel a special tool is required. They normally like a like a "T" or a donut.

Without the box and tools in excellent condition I would say a 6" is worth somewhere around $400 maybe a little more or less depending on where you live.

If so, it's a six inch barrel. The S/N on mine is 20XXX so the one you're talking about is older. For what it's worth, I paid $350.00 for mine. The dealer was asking $400.00.

Yes. They are big, they are heavy. They're built on the same frame DW used to build their 38/357's. About the size of a "L" frame Smith & Wesson. You won't find a better shooter.

Yes it looks like the one on the bottom. Seems like a great gun I love the trigger on it. Its nice and light and still crisp.
