In spite of Covid and ammo droughts, I have actually done some shooting myself these past twelve months.
"Enfield ... Egyptian click bang ammo ...
I had a bandolier of Pakistani click-bang 303 ammo in stripper clips (not all delayed but enough to force me to follow through like I was shooting a click-whoosh-boom flintlock). I decided to shoot up all but one sample stripper full which I then boxed with the bandolier, empty strippers, and a card describing the ammo. It was quite accurate in my sporterized Lee-Enfield No.1 MkIII* (BSA 1917, FTR 1954).
Corrosive primed cordite ammo = clean by black powder rules. Cordite (looks like spaghetti strands) is an obsolete British smokeless with nitroglycerin content which implies to me a good chance of residual nitric acid. After shooting 303 mil surp ammo clean by Triple7 rules.
Still fun.
Another session shot the lever action Marlin 39A Mountie to check the scope zero, and the pump action Taurus .22 WMR, and the Heritage Rough Rider with .22 LR and .22 WMR cylinders
I think those three look so cute together.
Last session I shot my Mossberg 1000 semi-auto shotgun and my cheap pump at water filled milk jugs at odd ranges. The Mossberg functioned perfectly. I've ordered a right hand shell stop for the pump, it's always been a problem child. It was a cold day so I quit early and actually had ammo left in the one box of 25 skeet loads I took with me.
