Folks,

What's a decent price for a 2.75" blue Ruger Security Six .357 that's in "very good" condition, excepting very mild pitting on the backstrap and a turn ring on the cylinder?

Thanks!

$250 would be as high as I would go if it was NIB and this one isn't. Ruger made a lot of them. they are a good solid revolver but nothing special

Some of the best prices I have seen are on www.gunsamerica.com the 2.75 inch barrel seem to go just a bit higher.Check there prices and go from there me about $250 maybe????????

I found one in a bit better condition than that two years ago for $225, and thought it was a screaming deal (here in NM). Prices on revos seem to vary around the country, with better deals available in the MidWest for sure. Here in the SW, things seem more dear.

Anyway, I don't know what they have on it, but I'd consider $250 or less to be a very good price based on your description. Above $300, it seems like it'd be too high, hereabouts anyway. :)

Bluebook: Security Six (117) 100% $300, 98% $225, 95% $195, 90% $185, 80% $160, 70% $150, and 60% $140. They are slightly higher in my area, but not much.

I would say around $220 max...... check on the auction sites to find out what is selling.

I don't know if this will help, but about a year ago I bought an excellent condtion Ruger Speed Six (round butt, fixed sights) in blue with 4" barrel for $210.

I recently purchased a Sec Six, 4" barrel blue NIB for $300. Byron

"six" series guns while by no means uncommon have been out of production for awhile and it seems they have been rising in price and people at rugerforum.com have also been noticing this. prices can and do vary for many reasons and I for one feel the shorter barrel ones in stainless are somewhat more desireable.

And I'm sure 38spl chambered ones go for less though I rarely see them and just try to find a 9x19 speed six or service six especially at a decent price nowadays.
