I have been trying to decide for a few weeks now if I wanted to purchase a Remington 870 Wingmaster or a Remington 332.

The easy part of the decision was that I wanted a Remington and a 12 gauge. But, the two that I could opt for are so equal yet so different that the ultimate decision took literally weeks. Well, today, after holding each side-by-side, I opted for the 870 Wingmaster.

But, let me ask this: the gun store has a used (but unfired) Remington 332 with a 25" barrel. They say that new it sells for $1,748.00 and have offered it to me for $899.00 out the door. Is that a good deal? Is that a deal that I should not pass? I could not confirm if it was USA-made or imported.

Any info will be appreciated.

+1 to what Dave.

332's are some of the most balanced and good looking o/us made... with total ignition gremlins. Like a Triumph Spitfire....

Thanks

Thanks all. I did purchase the Wingmaster today. It is awesome! I did not know much about the 332. To me, it just doesn't look very "strong".

Thanks again. I'll stick with just my new Wingmaster!

Remington hasn't made an acceptable o/u since the 3200.

It once had an outstanding o/u in the Model 32 but gave up the rights to it. Those rights were picked up by another gunmaker. The result is the gun known as the Krieghoff K-80 one of the preeminent clay target guns in the world today.

Not only did you make the right choice, you made the only choice.

Krieghoff K-80?

That is where they came up with the Krieghoff K-80? Wow, talk about a bad business-deal for Remington!

What turned me off regarding the 332 was the hollowed-out lugs within the receiver that retain the monoblock. They just appeared toyish to me. I like solid firearms, A.K.A. 870. I know, apples-n-oranges. Too, they told me it had a 26" barrel, but it measured exactly 25". That seemed an odd length.

Thanks for the info. I will NOT being going back for the O/U.
