Deer Hunting, what is your minimum cartridge?

I've tracked 2 deer. One I shot with a 300gr 45 cast in a sabots. The other was a 58 cal maxiball. One looked like you drilled a hole in the heart. The other was a double lung shot. Bigger holes just make them leak more.

158 gr. 357 Magnum XTP, both pistol and carbine.

Prefer the 180 gr., or the 140 gr. Barnes XPB.
