I wanted to improve the quality of my video's and did some work on the Gas gun video. I am planning on starting a series of videos from my collection (Yugo M76, DR-200, S&W 52, and Greener Mark III shotgun in works).

I uploaded a new Gas Gun video and deleted the old one.

Original Info:

I picked up a surplus Defense Technology 37mm Gas Gun from the Sportsman guide awhile go. Thought I would do a review of it and firing a blue smoke round. I don't have any 37mm round yet, but have some 26.5mm Czech round. I also ordered a 37mm to 26.5mm adapter at the same time and it finally came in last week. Really impressed with the gas gun. Built like a tank and trigger pull is quite good.

Cool! Do you (or anyone else) happen to know how to make your own smoke rounds? I know you can mix saltpeter, sugar and dye to form a very stable substance that gives off a lot of smoke when it burns. I guess you'd need some sort of fuse as well, though.

If one wanted to throw simple slugs from a large bore gun like this without the annoying paperwork, there are airsoft 40mm launchers which use reusable shells powered by a large charge of compressed gas. You could get a more authentic looking M203 replica, or a standalone launcher like this.

The shells available for these can fire just about anything from a cloud of a few hundred plastic (or metallic) 6mm BB's to rubber and foam slugs and rockets. You can also use them with a charged shell with no projectiles in it, and load whatever you like in the barrel, like a blunderbus.

Lots of fun.
