Cold Weather Rifle

The Cold Weather Rifle class is a half day class, starting at 1 pm and the price is $45 per attendee.

Details on the Rifle course will be available soon, please see the Cold Weather Handgun course above for details on cold weather shooting.

Ok.. Who is going to be there?

Looks like about 40 degrees. Myself and another gunner from work will be there.

I did the cold weather handgun and had a great time.

I highly recommend these cold weather courses. Did the cold weather handgun and really got a lot of value/learned a lot about dealing with cold hands and bulky clothing.

Not quite ready for for the rifle course, just picked up my first AR.

C'mon ahead... no better time to learn... no snobs here...just a good time.
I'll even spot you a couple mags worth of ammo.

I plan on being there. 40-plus degrees is not exactly what I call cold, but I suppose I will have to deal with unseasonal weather. It is guaranteed to be a good time to be had by all. This is not a high speed, low drag, teflon coated, and air cooled course. This course is based on dealing with cold weather rifle discipline, meaning good fundamentals of dealing with winter issues. We will go with the flow of the group. I was just up at the range Saturday teaching a handgun course, and there was about 12" of snow, so with this weeks melt is should be just about right. I might have to bring the sunblock with the heatwave, where is Fritz when you need him.

Thank for the offer, FedGunner. I'll try to make it, but was told the in-laws are coming for the weekend. I may not be able to get out of that one.

Sully- when are you going to get the Carbine I schedule up?

Can't make this one, but just to let folks know...

I took a pistol course with Defensive Edge last summer. Solid, no nonsense training. These guys train well. Money spent with them is well invested.

Got back from the course a bit earlier, it was a blast, learned quite a bit too.
Sully is an excellent instructor and there was a great bunch of guys there. :D

Looking forward to the shotgun class :D

There we were.... Boots... snow on the ground.. in shirt sleeves!

Some of the truly cold weather training will have to wait for another time. Lubricants, weapon design, and positions were discussed. For those that took the carbine course, the course of fire was similar, but the "rice paddy prone" was a better option than laying in the slush.

I went through about 400 rounds of .223.

A good review of fire and movement was followed by a little fun.

A pair of MP5's and a few hundred rounds of ammo can put a smile on your face!

This was typical Defensive Edge training. A lot of information in an easily understood format.

I'm there for the Shotgun class on the 6th!
