I only get through about 75-100 rounds before the cavity where the spent primers fall into fills up and jams my machine. I have to use a long zip tie and poke at both ends until they fall out.

For those Dillon users out there, what may be cuasing this? Thanks

If I recall, there's a white plastic insert on the side of the ram that you need to remove and make sure all the primers are out. It sounds as if some are still stuck in there.

Happened once to me.

You're saying they are stuck in the press? I've neve had that happen. Mine always fall through into the square blue "bucket" hanging underneath.

I'd try something bigger than a zip tie. There must be something blocking the tube that runs through the press. Maybe even use a cleaning rod and patch to clean out the tube. I can't even imagine anything that you could do wrong to cause the problem.

If you can't find the problem call Dillon. I haven't had or heard about a problem that their customer reps couldn't handle.

It sounds like the failsafe return bracket is installed upside down on the bottom of the shaft. When this happens, the hole that spent primers fall through is partially blocked. Soon primers stack up inside.

As far as sending a cleaning rod down, it seems that the path in the press has a curve to it. I have to use the zip tie cause its flexible enough to turn, but stiff enough to push through.

How do I take out the little white "plug"? It what stuck open once and spent primers fell out all over the place.

I'll check the failsafe bracket this evening, though I believe it's installed correctly.

I just pryed the plastic insert out, thin screw-driver I believe.

It's been a while since I've done it.
