Did they really load just five rounds?

uummm....maybe off topic, but-

responding to an offhand comment about black widows; my mother was in a coma 4 hours after a bite, and would have died within a few more if anti-venom hadn't been flown in from a different city. they had told my father even if the anti-venom arrived in time, it would be touch and go.

for some people, it is a death sentence.

Black widows are bad enough, we have them all over out here.

But what really concerns me are the Fiddleback spiders. Sneaky little things. Terribly venomous.

Makes the scorpions and Desert Centipedes look tame by comparison.

Yes, for some people they are. I meant in no way to make less of anyone that almost died or did die from a bite.

My point was that while it's got venom relatively similar to a cobra, they're very small and typically harmless...outside of leaving you in excruciating pain for a few days. Some people have allergic reactions to venom though and you can't really plan on the severity of those cases unless you already know you're allergic to the venom. Best to just leave them alone. With that said...99% of black widow bites aren't anything more than a couple days of feeling sick for most people.

Same with the brown recluse. It's got venom similar to a Bushmaster but the amount is so small. There's horrific pictures of necrosis from their bites online. Usually though if you just keep the wound clean and put some over the counter topical antibiotic like Neosporin on it, it will heal up just fine. There's always going to be people that are allergic to the toxins and have extreme reactions to small amounts of it though, but the same can be said for bea stings.

Again, wasn't trying to insult anyone. Just using as an example of something being overblown as much more deadly than it usually is in most cases.
