Not really... A Marlin 60 will be my first firearm of my own, but I've shot air rifles ever since I was 10 and the first firearm I shot was a 9mm when I was a real young kid, then a .357 and a .30-30 on the same day when I was a little older. First .22 I shot was a 10/22 I shot the same day as the .357 and .30-30, but I saved it for last.
So I dunno, my first gun of my own will be a .22, but it was actually one of the last calibers I've shot.
I got a winchester model 94 and a glenfield model 25 on the same day when I was 13 (my first guns) I only shot the 30/30 that I remember but I had shot 22's and shotguns before
well, yeah, technically a BB gun, but I never shot my eye out, so my two 1st real firearms were a 22 rimfire autoloader rifle and the occasional loan of a 410
Yes, no idea what it was, though. Shot a friend's .22--some kind of bolt action--at his parents' farm. Didn't really shoot much again until college, when I went out for the rifle team. We shot Anschutz match rifles, but I don't remember the model number. So all my early shooting was with .22s. First firearm I personally owned, however, was a Mossberg 500 12 gauge.
Taught to shoot by step-dad with a Winchester 1902. That was the family 22 (4 boys) for a few years. Later he bought a Nylon 66 for us to use. He gave me his Winchester Model 52 several years later.
The first three firearms that I shot were a 12 gauge, .30-06 & .357 Magnum (in that order) between the ages of 12-16. I didn't personally own a .22lr for a long time, and the reason why I bought one was because the ammo was so much cheaper to shoot.
