Dillon locator pin tabs

The plastic tabs that go under the brass station locator pins...do those serve a purpose other than making the pin easier to grab and remove? Does slightly raising them do anything?

Easier to grasp the pin. No issues with them being slightly elevated.

Yep, I think they were first for the RL 1050. Some folks I know made tabs using material from the side of a milk jug, thin but still a “handle”. I have known some that have used o-rings under them to contact the case.

On my 1050’s I remove them from some of the stations because they do make it much easier to inadvertently remove them but the .030 it raises the button isn’t a problem, even with rounds that don’t have a tick rim.

Yeah my 750 doesn't have those.
I don't chew my fingernails so removing the station pins isn't a problem for me.

I believe these started out as aftermarket accessories. I've found them on eBay several years ago.

I got a few sets with other things like toolhead stands, some aftermarket add-ons.....Just wondered if they did anything. Never used them, but thought it about it and maybe they serve some purpose - other than easier to lift a pin out.

pink for breast cancer awareness

easier to find when you drop one under the bench

They’re a handy reminder to remove the pins before you clean up your reloading bench so you don’t have to fish them out of the vacuum cleaner after

Two Dillon presses, never heard of or saw them until today. It seems to me that it would make it easier to knock a locator pin out by accident.

My (2) 550's don't have those. I don't have any trouble removing them. Might be a good idea if I dropped one on the floor though.
