A couple of weeks ago in my ever, ongoing and persistent quest for large pistol primers I stopped by an old gun shop that's only open two days per week. The current owner is an old acquaintance of mine who I hadn't seen for years so if nothing else I'd catch up on the local goings on of my former home.
I wound up taking home a couple of half pound cans of 700X and four 250ct flats of RWS LPP's all for less than $50, not bad even by pre-shortage standards.
So yesterday I'm loading some 45 Colt and I decided to switch over to these "new" primers. After wrestling them out of the holder (they make Federals look well thought out) I noticed an insert in the package. It was stating that with "X" number of these little inserts I could get substantial discounts on all sorts of reloading goodies. Things like powder tricklers, shot shell loaders etc., all I had to do was mail the little inserts and a check or money order to such and such address.
Now, growing up in the 60's & 70's all of this of course made perfect sense but something just didn't seem quite correct, like there's no UPC on the package nor is there a web address. Upon further reading of the fine print on the coupon I find to my dismay that the offer has expired.....in 1968!!!! As usual, I'm a day late and a dollar short.
