Disclaimer: I am not in any way being compensated by the vendors offering 5% THR discount - Just a customer who has bought their products over the years.

My retirement is less than 2 years away and cleaning out the house for anticipated sale and relocation (we'll be looking to buy our retirement house starting this winter). Instead of putting items on Craigslist, I thought about starting a new PIF thread. As many of you know already, I am a supporter of blarby's "Pay It Forward" thread - http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=698208

So to thank THR for a forum to let me vent my work stress away (and not on my wife), to thank the many contributing members who chose to support THR, to thank the vendors who offer THR discount and to thank the members who support these vendors, I thought we could use some diversion in the Handloading and Reloading forum category.

Here's it goes:

- I will post up items to PIF
(members are free to post and offer items)

- Contributing THR members are eligible to participate (You can become a contributing member to support THR by paying $25/year which will remove annoying ads and gain other benefits- http://www.thehighroad.org/payments.php

- THR members who participate in the "Pay it forward" thread are eligible to participate (We will use the honor system for gifters and not recipients of PIF) - http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=698208

- Regular THR members can participate by making a purchase from vendors offering 5% THR discount and let them know by adding your THR name/ID in the order comment box

- Make your participation known for the item by replying for the item followed by eligibility (Example: "Check weights - contributing member" or "RCBS universal trimmer - Purchased from Dardas/MBC/RMR and purchase date)

- If no member replies for the posted item, the ending date will automatically reset to the following Sunday and continue until a member replies for the item.

- A random member will be selected from the participation responses (blarby/rcmodel will make the random selection and me by default if they are not available or if they want to participate for a particular item).

- Once the selected member PMs the address to the poster, poster will pay-it-forward the item and also cover the shipping cost in the spirit of PIF :)

If you post a PIF item, set an ending date for your item and post a picture if you can. I would suggest at least 2 weeks, preferrably a month so other members who do not log into THR as frequently could have the opportunity to see the offered PIF items and check on Sunday nights (when most members are not working and likely to be home) to see if they were selected for the item.

I will start with several items to "seed" the thread but hoping that others, who while doing some house cleaning, will find unwanted items to post on this thread. I hope this thread will encourage more to become contributing members to support THR and help vendors keep offering THR discounts (and perhaps more vendors will join) to help all of us reloaders.

BTW, following vendors offer 5% THR discount (RMR requires your THR name/ID in the order comment box for the discount):

Dardas Cast Bullets with HIGHROAD promo code - http://www.dardascastbullets.com/mm...GY&Store_Code=dardas&Category_Code=OURBULLETS

Missouri Bullet Company with THR-Original promo code - http://www.missouribullet.com/pricing.php

Rocky Mountain Reloading with thehighroad5 promo code - http://www.shop.rmrbullets.com/

OpticsPlanet on $50+ orders with THRFORUM discount code - http://www.opticsplanet.com/

I thak you all in advance for your generosity and support!

I will start with a check weight set by American Weigh Scales. It is OIML Class M2 check weight set with the following weights:

Gram Weights: 1 by 50g, 2 by 20g, 1 by 10g, 1 by 5g, 1 by 2g, 1 by 1g
Milligram Weights: 1 by 500mg, 1 by 200mg, 1 by 100mg, 1 by 50mg, 2 by 20mg, 1 by 10mg

It is brand new. I ordered an extra set when I ordered Ohaus check weight set and Gemini-20 digital scale to get the free shipping. Most reloading check weight set has .5 gr as the smallest weight. This set's 10 mg weight is .15 gr so you can really verify whether your scale is accurate to .15 gr or not.

You can let your participation known for this item by replying with "Check weight set" and "Contributing member / Made purchase from Dardas/MBC/RMR". Purchase should be made between now and the ending date for the item. I will use the honor system for purchases and trust the member's claim but I guess the vendors can ultimately verify whether a qualifying purchase was made.

Time frame for member selection will end at 6 PM (PST) on Sunday, 9/14/14.

Next item is Lyman Universal Trimmer. It has some surface rust but has all 9 pilots and extra new cutter - http://www.lymanproducts.com/lyman/case-trimmers/universal-trimmer.php

Time frame for member selection will end at 6 PM (PST) on Sunday, 9/28/14.

OK. blarby agreed to do the random member selection and rcmodel agreed to be the standby.

To me, it doesn't matter who does the selection as long as a member selection is posted after 6 PM PST on the ending date so the pay-it-forward can proceed. So whoever is available on the ending date can post and that will be fine with me.

Of course, if blarby and/or rcmodel wants to participate, I will default and make the random member selection.

OK, I guess with that aspect covered, we are free to proceed!

If anyone wants to post items, feel free to do so.

Rocky Mountain Reloading would like to participate as well. At the end of every month, so long as this thread doesn't die, I would like to give away 500 bullets to one person who ordered using the 5% thr discount when they ordered bullets for that month. We will look up all the names of the people who used the coupon that month and we will randomly select a winner. The 500 bullets will be determined by which bullets the winner ordered so the more expensive item you buy, the more you stand to win.

My days are very busy so I am notoriously bad at keeping track of the date so I may need a reminder from time to time that the end of the month has come.

This is just too cool. I love seeing things like this in the firearm community.
Kudos to you bds, as well as Rocky Mountain Reloading, Missouri Bullet Company, Dardas Cast Bullets and everyone involved in the PIF thread.

Makes me wish I had the reloading station I've been wanting. But you know, unemployment and all that.

Way to go guys!

Not sure if I understand this. Please feel free to correct me. I am happy to pay $25 to THR to become a contributing member. I would love that weight check kit, and I have a Sinclair .30 cal neck turning tool to donate.

Thanks,

Terry

The bullets deal is really cool. I guess there is no harm in stocking up to be entered in the drawing each month. :)

I could definitely use the Lyman trimmer. I just ordered 2k mixed grain 9mm bullets this week from rmr using the discount code. Love this thread's concept!

Interested in - Checked Weight Set - purchased from MBC - 29 August 14 , Order ID: cw50-93a9-bb6d-67fb

Terry, as soon as you become a contributing member, you will be added to the drawing for the check weight set.

I have a Sinclair .30 cal neck turning tool to donate.
That is awesome! Yes, this is exactly what I was hoping for.

If you set an ending date for your item and post a picture if you can, eligible members can start to post replies for the item. I would suggest at least 2 weeks (with the same ending time of 6 PM on Sunday) so other members who do not log into THR as frequently could have the opportunity to see the offered PIF item and check on Sunday nights (when most members are not working and likely to be home) to see if they were selected for the item.

Of course, you should cover the cost of shipping for the PIF item in the "spirit" of the "Pay It Forward" as it would be a generous act on your part to seed the PIF process or as your response to another kind deed afforded to you by someone else in your life.

Thank you!

I was planning to offer up RCBS RS-5 single stage press and maybe Lee Classic Turret press.

What I may do is assemble some other items like calipers, scales, bullet puller and do a reloading kit to offer for PIF.

Stay tuned.

BDS, good job getting this rolling

Well done - rcmodel is offering the following Lee Reloader Press WOO-HOO!

OK members - step up to the plate & CONTRIBUTE to the THR!

ordered bullets from Missouri bullet company yesterday so do they post it for me or do I post it here?
We will use the honor system. I am sure the vendors can verify the purchase date/THR ID if there is any issues.

Thanks for supporting the vendor who support THR and us members!

In keeping with the spirit of the THR Pay it Forward FREE STUFF GIVEAWAY:

My interest is in 9MM handgun & carbine and I have bullets from a wide array of manufacturers. Since many new enthusiasts find it expensive to try their selected caliber from various products that are offered, I'm going to give what I call the 9MM Beginner's Bullet Buffet Bonanza (BBBB):what:. It will be 10 bullets from Sierra, Montana Gold, Berry's (HBRN & FP), Hornady (HAP & XTP), Barnes, and Zero (90g to 147g). BYOB brass, powder & primers ;). The 10-bullet lots will be individually bagged & tagged for easy identification. Here's the good start to get you up & running :D
