I have an Anderson Enterprises blue fanny pack that can house my glock and a spare mag - it also works well hiding the gun in the car door on long trips; while not a holster, it does provide another option, especially since it isn't tactical black, it doesn't scream "gun"
IMHO, J-frames belong in a pocket, in a pocket holster. If it's cool enough for me to wear a cover garment, I carry a .357 K-frame or a .40 SIG in a belt holster.
Seems like I saw someone is making a holster that uses a pager or cell phone to disguise the belt attachment.
Ah yes, it's called "Pager Pal" and it's a pancake type IWB.
How about taking a blank plastic box, put two small air lines from a fish tank into your pants. Put the Jframe in there, if you need it, just pop the box open and its there. Look like a Medical Device that most wouldn't question. Just an idea I had when I saw a rail thin girl walking down the beach with this medical device on her hip.
Something like a PDA case, modified to hold the gun upright, could accommodate a lightweight snubnose revolver or a small pistol. A cell phone case is too small for anything but perhaps a mini-revolver or a Downsizer, neither of which are practical sidearms.
A friend had a "pager pal" for a while. Said it worked well but didnt last long. I think they've updated to a "phone pal" type of thingy, but I hear it's still fragile plastic.
