Do you have guns for which you have no ammo?

I think I still have a few 32 Win Special rounds around, that would be the only maybe. Bought a few boxes of 22WRF at a show a couple of years ago.

nope. only ammo for guns i no longer own. but then again, my collection consists of guns that i either use for hunting, working, or for personal defense.

Do you own firearms for which you have no ammo? I don't necessarily mean that you are temporarily out because of the shortages, but guns that you just don't ever stock ammo for.
I've got an old Mauser in the back of my safe which I don't have any ammo for. It used to belong to my father but to the best of my knowledge that gun has not been fired in my lifetime (50+ years) so I would not even consider loading it without a thorough examination by a competent 'smith.

Do you own firearms for which you have no ammo?

Sure.... :what:

Why?

Cuz I have no intention of shooting them...

Why?

Because contrary to what some believe, not all guns were made to be shot - for various reasons, or they should be honorably retired. ;)

Got two....

I've got an old Webley revolver that takes .38 S&W, but I don't have any ammo in that caliber. I wonder if I could convert it to fire something else?

I've also got a .22 single shot rifle that was converted to .17 Mach 2. I'm down to one box.

I sold an SP-101 in .32 H&R Magnum, and I was going to throw in the ammo I had left over, but the guy I was dealing with turned out to be so unpleasant that I just kept the ammo and donated it to a local gun store. I'm sure they would find a good home for it, and the store owner was and remains a good guy.

I dont have any guns that I dont have ammo for, but I do have some firearms that have little ammo for them. So its basically like I dont have any. I do have some ammo that I bought for a gun I dont own yet, but was anticipating buying until all the panic.

I've got a Thompson-Center Seneca, .36 cal Muzzle-loader that I've never owned either powder, balls, or caps for.

I've got lots of ammo with no guns. 45 Colt, 9mm, and 32 S&W.

I used to have a couple of Type 53, Chinese Mosins, as well as a Nagant revolver, that I never had ammo for, but I've sold them recently.

I once owned a .41 rimfire Remington '95 Derringer (it was given me by a little old lady down the block). I gave it away to a friend a few years later having never owned any ammo for it.

A few years later, a coworker asked me if I knew what a box of bullets he found in the basement of his new house was for- yup, it was a box of .41 rimfire.

He gave me the box, which I had for almost a year before I ran into my friend who had the derringer- which he had used in a trade with his brother. I gave him the ammo to pass on, and he discovered that his brother had given away the derringer, but would pass on the ammo...

I don't know if the ammo ever caught up with the derringer...

I do have a box of .308Win,.....

Not sure how I ended up with that, because I have NEVER owned a .308

Insert 'Scooby Doo' answer here.. Ruhhh?????

I haven't hand loaded any rounds for my .243. Used to use it for chuck hunting in PA now living in MA and not chuck hunting. It is a pretty gun though, a Sako Finwolf with a 10x Weaver scope on it. Got .5" groups at 100 yards with the hand loads. It took a lot of time and effort working up those loads.

No, I do have ammo for all my guns. I also have round balls, black powder and caps for my BP guns. Reloading supplies for smokeless ammo are a bit low, though :(

I've been loading ammo heavily for two years, and the lowest I have on hand is 40 rounds for my .45-70. That will increase to 200-300 in the spring, when I can comfortably cast bullets outdoors again. I hate to reveal what I have available for the rest of my guns, as there are probably military units that don't get issued that much when they go into battle.:D

I have a Tranter revolver in .442 rimfire. I understand that cartridges were made in England for a couple of years around 1865.

If anybody has a box, please send me a PM.

I actually do. I bought a special run model 25 S&W in .45 Colt several years ago, and have never bought any ammo.

Hello friends and neighbors // Yes a few:

9mm Largo,,, for a 1940s Star Model A Super.... have not yet taken the time to look for ammo.

12mm pin fire,,, for an Lefaucheux M1858 or French Tranter ... 12,000 purchased by the Federal Forces and distributed mostly among Calvary troops in 1862..... have not found any.

.401sl ,,, I have a little more than one box for the Winchester 1910 self loader.... might have to try some of the new reloads.

Worse than not having ammo for the gun, is the fact that I have ammo too expensive and hard to replace to shoot in the guns of that caliber.
Mainly .32 rimfire... I'm down to 500 rounds +- of reliable ammo with prices going up fast.

Just two. An Arisaka Type 38 ( 6.5x50 ) and a Dannish Krag ( 8x58R ). I don't think anyone manufactures the Krag ammo any more and I don't reload.

I have not bought any .32acp in awhile for my Skorpion. Waiting for lower price stock to come in but I keep forgetting to check.

Only one gun with no ammo, .32 Rim Fire. But I have no intention of ever firing it, so it doesn't bother me. (Although a few loose rounds for display might be nice...)

My usual problem is that I will pick up something and have to have ammo for it even though I may or may not ever get around to shooting it. Some are so unusual I have to make the brass. My latest is making sizing and seating dies for 9.4 Dutch revolver. (I even had to make some swaging dies to get a correct diameter bullet.) I made up a dozen rounds, probably will shoot a cylinder full and then it will disappear into the safe.....

Another two year old thread bumped for no good reason by someone with two total posts.

I guess I just don't understand the logic of this, but I see it all the time.

When you are a brand new member, do you scour outdated threads just so you can have something to say?

Aren't there enough current threads to comment upon?

I can't imagine that anyone would join just so they could comment on a thread that nobody has shown any interest in two years....but I could be wrong.

Or maybe I got up on the wrong side of the 'net this morning.
