I have owned several (a G23 and two G19s) in the past. Have shot a bunch of others--.45acp. .357 Sig, and so on...
Wouldn't mind a G20 or a G29. Perhaps one day. But not high on my list, so no, right now, no Glocks.

I have a few.

A Glock 17 was my first handgun purchase at 21 and kind of locked me in. At the time, early 90's, Berettas and SIGs were too expensive for my budget, 3rd Gen Smith's were huge and blocky, and 1911's were pretty horrible straight from the box.

In the end, I am glad I ended up choosing Glock. The platform has worked out well for me and I have had years of trouble free service from my guns.

I think it's funny that Jeff Cooper's opinion of Glocks still pops up. A lot has changed since his passing and I think it's fair to say although Glocks are great guns for the masses, they have also earned a reputation as a gun for the masters.

Regardless of the beadazzling applied to a Glock, they will never reach the same level of refinement of a 1911 required by the aesthete, but there is no denying they work when the chips are down and in the end that is what is most important to me.

Had a very early Glock G17 and marveled at all of the innovation that went into it but never really warmed up to it. I didn't care for the overall ergonomics along with the width of the frame and slide The trigger at least was good enough even after the recall work was done to it. I sold it and didn't replace until it earlier this year when I tried out a Glock 43X and a G48.Finally a couple of Glocks that fit my hand perfectly and were just the right size. I liked them so much I bought one of each!

I have to admit a sneaky fondness for the 43X. I originally bought one for one of my daughters (she wanted something smaller than the W. German SIG P228 she took from me), she'd shot a friend's a bit and liked it, but after shooting hers, and also based on my experience with the 19X, I picked up one for myself (a California, NY and Illinois pistol). Got one with the factory night sights and have been pleasantly surprised.

I'm not a hater, but I will maintain my license to poke fun at Glocks and the Glock Legion of Fanbois.

I leave you with this, my Tactical Christmas (that's right, I used the T-word in connection with Christmas, but at least I never mentioned "soul").

I voted no. I've never owned one. I have shot them & do like them. It is just there are so many similar options out there that I wind up getting something else. I do have a Dagger (Gen 3 Glock clone). 3rd gen Glock 19 parts are interchangeable with the Dagger parts although from what I understand not all Dagger parts will work in a Glock 19. The locking block & the pins are not interchangeable, they are different.

I am down to 3. My Gen 3 Glock 17, the first gun I ever bought. And two Glock 45's for home defense, but I did change out the frames so they are not 100%g Glock anymore.

Above i said how I feel about Glock now. I carry them over all my p series Sigs (and rugers), USPs, FNs, Berettas, Czs etc etc etc. They do everything just as well as those and weigh less and cost less.

That said, I also swore id never have one. I hated them. Lol. Plastic junk....

If they weren't the only option for a 10mm back around 2000 8 may have never changed my tune. I bought a 20, then by extension got a 29 for carry (still my least favorite Glock) then a 27 because the 29 was too big for carry and too small for hunting. Then a 17. Then a couple 22s. Then a 44. Then a spare 27..... etc etc etc.

Just a few...View attachment 1186437

Yeah. I have one now. Haven't sold my other brands nor quit buying those too. But the Glock is my choice if I only got 1
Yes! The 10mm thing. But now that M&P is in 10mm I'd never really take another look at Glock. S&W just fits me better.

Just gathering information for future use, as a non-Glock owner, but why did you keep the G26 and G34 and get rid of the rest?
Not speaking for P5 Guy here, but I more or less did the same thing. Well, about the 26 and a similar larger gun. Im not down to "just two" though. :)

After having 17's, 19's, and 26's, and a couple of 42's and 43's, I came to realize that if I had to have just two, it would be a 17 and 26, and if I had to have just one, it would be the 26.

The 26 is a deceptive little critter that is really way more gun than a lot of people realize. Its small enough to go where the 19's won't, yet it shoots like the bigger guns above it, and with a simple mag change, can have the same capacity.

It is slightly fatter/larger than the single stacks, but that mag compatibility cinches things there for me and makes up for any little bit of extra size. The fatter grip also makes the gun a lot easier to control and the single stacks want to squirm around in my hand when I shoot them.

I normally carry a 17, and use a 26 as a BUG or, if for some storage reason, I cant carry the 17, I'll use the 26 as a primary, but that doesn't happen much. I quit using things like my Seecamps, LCP's etc for BU's when I figured out I could just as easily carry my 26 in the same type holsters in the same places.

And while I do still have a couple of them, I still cant for the life of me see the advantage or appeal to the 19's. The 45's are even dumber when you get down to it, and yet I have a couple of them too.

Gen2 glock 20 now with aftermarket barrel. Bought right at the beginning of the 90's AWB so i got it with full mags. Had a k-boom and sheared the mag release. Also unfortunately almost had my tshirt pull the trigger on me once. I only 'reactivated' it when kydex clip holsters became widely available (no need to reholster). It is in my rotation but generally rare for me to carry.
I see no reason to buy another glock. Better choices like CZ are available.

I am in the same boat with the 26.. Its a worthless sized pig esp. now-a-days with guns that have the same capacity, just as reliable, yet are smaller in every conceivable way.
My favorites are the 34/35 sized ones.

Half the guns I own are Glocks.

I swore up and down I would never own a Glock. Even after I bought one my wife insisted that she would never own a Glock because all of the crap that I talked about Glocks.

After I bought a Glock I came to the conclusion that they are the perfect gun for people who aren't "into" guns.

Once I got over the hurdle of not wanting to own a gun that wasn't a TDA I bought a Glock 19 for work. Then I bought a Glock 26 for times when I needed a more concealable gun.

My wife bought a Glock 19 and a Glock 43. I never asked her why.

I like the fact that a third of our handguns can run on one kind of magazine and one caliber of ammunition.
