Do you still own the first gun you BOUGHT?

Yep sure do. Colt MK IV Series 80 .45 bought in 1984 new and within reach at this moment.

My friends dad just gave him the first gun he bought new in 1963 still in the box with the original papers and $39.95 receipt!! A Ruger Super Bearcat. Shot less than a half box of shells in it, cleaned it and stored it till now. Its not pristine mint but it is mint, like 99.998%

He dont know what he has. Should I?

Naahh, I'll tell him. Really, I will.

Greeting's All,

Thankfully NO, cuz it was a P.O.S. that was purchased
on impulse!:cuss: That piece of crap was a .22 LR caliber
revolver called the "Burgo", as made by Arminus in
Germany. Bought it at K-Mart in 1969-70, fopr the
sum of $42.50. Guess what? I sold that "junk" to
my father-in-law for $25.00; and was glad to get
that much out of it.:neener:

Best Wishes,

Yes, still have all the guns I bought.

First was a Glock 17, 3rd gen.
Last (at the moment) CZ 75 Compact.

Yep. Bought a Marlin Glenfield Model 60 when I was 14. Up till then I only had a single shot .22 and a single shot 16 gauge shotgun given to me by my dad. I was sure that if I could just fire faster I could get more squirrels and rabbits :) Of course, I really found out that I just went through a box of .22s every time I went out and I didn't worry about getting a perfect shot the first time because I could always follow up with another shot. Those follow up shots are a lot tougher when the squirrel is running full bore. Oh well. We all get older and hopefuly wiser. :D

Not counting my first gun that was given to me, I bought my first gun at 18. Now I'm 51. I have every gun I ever bought as well as my Dad's guns. I have some guns I don't like as well as others, but 've never bought a gun I absolutely hated. If I did I might sell it. I do a lot of reading about a gun that I am interested in buying, make an informed decision, and lust after it for awhile before buying it. So, I generally know what I'm doing. Given that, I think selling guns is generally a bad idea.

yeah, I still own it. It's a sig pro 2340. I love the thing, but I'm looking to sell it. I decided I want to stick to just a couple platforms. 1911 and glock. Well, throw in BHP as well. :p

Shudder - No the first gun I ever bought was a RG -22 back in 1974. Now my brother still has the second gun I bought a S&W Mod. 10.

Same story here , that RG was a POS, but I still have mine , after almost 40 years, just to remind me you get what you pay for.

Still have it. A Taurus Model 66 .357, even though I've bought "better" guns since, it never fails me and now rests in the Mini-Vault next to the bed as my wife's nightstand gun.

Yes.

First base was in the UK, but my second (ahh...) was in Germany. The first day on post, the guy who was showing me around introduced me to the Rod and Gun Club Sales Manager...and I bought a 6" King Cobra right there on the spot.

You bet! An H&R "Sidekick", 9-shot .22, purchased from a Western Auto I think, back in 1962. Back in the day!

I still have the Save Stevens single-shot 12 gauge that my father gave me for my 11th birthday many moons ago. When the time is right, and she is physically big enough to handle it, my daughter will receive it!

Yep. Winchester Model 70 XTR Featherweight. I bought it at the Hanau Rod & Gun club when I was stationed in Germany. Still knocking down deer with it.

Yep, I still have it.

And it still works fine. I guess I don't believe in selling guns. When I get the rare "lemon", first I try to fix it. Then I take it to a gunsmith. If HE can't make it reliable, I hide it in the bottom of my safe so I won't have to look at it. (There's only a couple down there. :) ) It would hurt my conscience to pass off a lemon to an unknowing buyer.
At the gun shop yesterday a woman came in and said she was a single Mom with a 15 year old kid. She wanted protection because she said her neighborhood had gotten bad. She only had $100.00 to spend so naturally, she left with nothing. (I could not sell HER a lemon. I have enough trouble sleeping.) I wanted to "make up the difference" so she could get something good. But this "straw purchase" thing started going around my brain. Someone please tell me though. I know where this woman is. Why couldn't I just *go over and give her the rest of the money to buy a good revolver? Opinions please??

Thanks,

KR

First gun bought was a Savage 64 semiautomatic in .22LR picked up at Wally-World for under $100. First pistol bought was my HS2000 9mm. Still serves me faithfully as one of my daily carry guns. Today I'm waiting for the magic brown UPS truck to show up and bring me a Bushy A3 upper, and I'll own my first AR-15. :D

Yes.
It's a 6" Ruger GP 100. I have traded & sold a very few (SP 101, AR-15, SKS, 2 Vaqueros). I'll not trade/sell again due to the fact that I gotta replace 'em.

I still have the first revolver.

My first firearm was a Remington 572 Speedmaster, I must have shot 50,000 rounds through that thing.
It just quit working one day, so I put in the closet, and eventually sold it for nuthin.
