I completely understand that watching MSLSD , CNN, or any other extremly liberal news channel is hard to do for very long. However, I find it somewhat informative to see what the other side is talking about. Right now they are talking about gun control in every segment I watch, rather its Piers or Sharpton. They are mad that they got beat up in the last vote and they are not letting it go. I have seen their efforts ramped up and the propaganda machine is at full steam.

Yes. I'm a "news junkie" and there are precious few media outlets that are not overtly anti-gun. So, to get news, I also have to get the daily dose of anti-gun propaganda. Besides that, it's more useful to me to see what the antigunners are up to, than to see the usual "preaching to the choir" comments from our side.

NPR is literally the only radio station that comes in on my 4 hour daily commute. It is pretty dang biased although not as disgusting, petty, and downright demeaning as MSNBC.

Yes, the local NPR and that Far Left on Your Radio Dial/Radio Active station. Along with the networks, it's tough. I do not want to become like those Bernard Goldberg wrote about in Bias.
Those fish do not know they are wet.

I no longer watch mainstream news including Fox.

But I am watching the opposition starting to 'lose it' in their press releases and their quotes. One politician wants to ban certain soda containers and says the constitution must change after Boston.

Another politician says the police should be called if people buy too many nails.....or beauty items.

Another politician has no idea what a barrel shroud is, yet is an "expert" on gun control.

I stopped watching all television about ten years ago but since I am in my vehicle a lot during the day I do listen to multiple radio stations. I rarely listen to NPR but I do listen to Edd Schultz and a wide variety of so called "conservative" talk show hosts along with some local guys to get an average of what they are talking about. Know your enemy....

Well, don't we have to look for allies? Should we build bridges or blow them up? I am tired of the rhetoric from both extremes, and suggest that our voices will be heard more readily on Capitol Hill if we have larger numbers. Most of us agree with the idea that National Parks are good. Can we not build on that? Yes, most of the commentators and politicians on both ends of the political spectrum seem to enjoy creating hate, discontent and animosity. But, aren't they just doing that for their Nielsen ratings, graft and more money? (AKA: polarization for fun and profit!) Do they really give a damn about the USA? Can we not rise above that and look for common causes? Isn't the view better from the High Ground?

I prefer to read their books, websites, and "studies". Most of the their books are used on Amazon for 1 penny, and Josh Sugermann is actually a pretty good author. Tom Diaz wrote a decent book with Making a Killing: The Business of Guns in America. I didn't find Dennis Henigan to be as good a writer.

I paid a little extra to get an autographed copy of one of Sugermann's books.

I track segments and a variety of headlines, specifically to see what they are feeding to the public. This is a giant game of chess. When you stop thinking about your opponent, you lose.

We each need to realize we have two voting methods. One the ballot box and the other is our spending. Who do you buy from? Progressive ins and Costo are two big liberal supporters. Don't trust me check it out. Think on Progressive's name even.

At same time the local stations care about you. They are not able to change audience so need suit the locals. If you have an issue then tell them with why. Give them the other info. You may find yourself to become someone they may seek for info. Seek out their reports that believe your way and help them. Most likely they have one or two.

Yup, watch 'em on the tube and listen to 'em on the radio along with keeping an open mind while talking to my exceedingly weird family members.

I do however draw the line at printed propaganda as I simply can't abide what passes for "journalism" these days in the majority of printed media.

I figure it's like keeping a knife tuned. A fella's got to take the abrasion and minor abuse of the stone from time to time to keep 'er sharp.

As to aggravation - I'm as likely to be enraged by the average "conservative" being right for the wrong reasons as I am to throw a hissy after hearing left-wing clap-trap.

Everyone should consume a variety of media from many different corners of the belief continuum. Heck when I can I even watch Al Jazeera and RT to see how things look from well outside our borders, too.

It is the only way to really understand where the "middle ground" is.

I watch Morning Joe on MSNBC in the mornings...well, I listen. It's good for a laugh.

In the afternoons I catch some Fox News...that's also good for a laugh.

BBC World actually reports news w/o too much of an opinion. Mostly facts.

During the bulk of the day I watch/listen to CNBC. I like to make money.

I'm the same way. In fact, I probably watch more news from the other side.

I believe it is always wise to know the ways (and means) of one's adversary, even if that means suffering a bit in the process. In my case such suffering equates to fits of my head exploding when I listen to the drivel. The upside is I may get a little perspective through all the noise. Not likely to change my positions, but more knowledge is always better than less. To me the trick is balance - get it from many sources and make an informed decision, IMHO.

If you think that these "news" channels are bad I've been reading a left wing forum and they are straight up calling for the repeal of 2nd amendment. To them all gun owners are just mass murders waiting to snap. This fight will never be over.

Same here - listen to it while I work out the AM. It's getting more difficult to look at Mika's platinum head though; pretty soon it's just going to start glowing and burn Joe to cinders.

I prefer "MSNKVD".

That having been said, I like to hit the Cleveland Plain Dealer comments section. Just about every week there's some kind of incoherent and dishonest anti-gun rant. The difference is that I get to refute what's said so that everyone can see it.

I stick to drudge, they do the watching for me. everytime a politician says something stupid about guns, they report it. i don't need the daily rhetoric bashing guns, just need to know what their next move is.
