Looking for information about what reflex sight I should get. I have a 627PC. From what I've seen, JPoint makes a mount that fits the standard S&W factory sight and looks halfway decent. It also looks like JPoint makes an adapter for their mounts that allows you to use a Docter sight wit their mounts too. So unless there's something better out there, the JPoint mount is probably the road I will go since I can use it for either the JPoint or the Doctor (with adapter).

I've read posts that say the JPoint is good, but the plastic lens is easy to scratch. I wouldn't mind spending the extra cash for the glass lens of the Docter if it's that much better. But haven't ever seen either, I will defer to those of you who own them to tell me what you think.

Also, CDNN has the Docter Sight II Plus 3.5MOA for $240 and that might even be a little cheaper than the JPoint. Is this version an older model or something? Should I not bother with that one if there is a newer Docter that is much better?

Intended purpose of the sight: General range shooting with option as a primary carry for hog hunting and a secondary carry for deer hunting (opportunities under 30 yards).

I was debating between a Burris Fast Fire and a Docter. Even thou they dont seem to market well, I am opting for the Docter from SWFA to put on an FNP-45. I will let you know how it works out.

Here are some photos of my 627 Performance Center with the new Docter sight added. I used the J Point mount that fits the factory S&W rear sight and used the J Point adapter shim to mate the Docter sight with the J Point mount. I'm very pleased wit this sight. Very bright, very crisp, and very clear. It was easy to mount and get sighted in. It's so accurate that it's almost unfair....almost! Don't pay attention to the Goodyear grips. I've got the gun set up to run full house .357 loads for hunting this fall and the rubbers definitely help with the recoil.
