sorry for the loss of your family member, and i hope the murderer gets justice served to him.

now, the shooter did not run. did not try to conceal his crime. the shooter admitted what he did. while that could never change what he did, it does tend to put him in a different category, the one that appears to take personal responsibility for his/her actions.

however, if the murderer enters a plea of 'not guilty', i'll be peeved even more.

Strip the guy naked, cover him in blood and honey, blindfold him and toss him into a cave of almost out of hibernation grizzlies or kodiaks..... then seal the cave.

You'll please all of us and keep the treehuggers happy.

I don't know, I guess I value human life and get very angry when people take it purposely and without good reason. But this is not an appropriate thread to discuss such things. I hope you and your family find peace, magsnubby.

No death penalty. We can't afford it. But the maximum security prison is in Seward with a great view of the bay and mountains. It's perhaps the best torture. The fellow who shot several people at his school in Bethel is housed there now for 99+ years. He thinks it's about the worst possible place to be in prison because lush freedom is always so close.

Still, it's way too early to know exactly what took place. Folks who murder usually don't walk over and admit to it like that.

Homer is the end of the road. It attracts some really wonderful, interesting people and some really really bad ones. Much like the rest of the state I suppose.

A couple of paragaphs from the Peninsula Clairon.

Wallace told Gilmore he began to suspect Wilkinson might rob him, and that he pulled his .22 caliber pistol from a seat pocket and shot Wilkinson. The investigation showed the gun appeared to have been fired three times. Police found the gun in the cab of Wallace's truck.

"Wallace stated that Wilkinson never brandished or threatened him with any weapon, did not assualt or attack him and did not threaten him in anyway," Gilmore wrote in his report.

Wallace had no injuries, but displayed signs of intoxication. The incident did not appear to have been accidential,Gilmore said.
........................................................................................................................

The investigators still can't get any kind of an answer as to why he thought Seth was going to rob him. All the guy says is "I just felt threatened. I just thought he was gonna rob me."

They seem to think it's a case of alcohol induced paranoia. Most all of us have saw it at one time or another. There's no reasoning with a drunk once they've convinced theirselves they've been wronged.

The Alaskan authorities have really been great about keeping my sister informed on how the case is going. They even called her and told her what had happened instead of just passing it off to the local PD.

Thanks everybody.
