does abody have a baretta m96?

was looking at a m96 in a pawn shop it was very clean looked very nice . dont see very many of these on this board . do they work ? does any body like them?

The M96 is my wifes issue gun. She likes it very much. The only problem is that its like trying to hide a box of wheaties when she is not working.

My dept. issues the 96-G and I think it is a great gun for uniform carry. It is hard to conceal for plainclothes carry. The gun is reliable, accurate and durable. I would prefer a Glock 22 or 35 due to capacity, but that is not up to me.

I had one. It was the nicest shoting 40 S&W pistol I have owned. I bought it used from a buddy who bought it to go through an academy with but later sold it when he found out he couldn't use it w/ the department he hired one with  It handles & shoots very well!

Mine is used and I have around 6000 rnds down it now. Very very reliable. It will digest some of the worst reloads I have ever made and no problems. It is magnaported so my wife likes it because of the low recoil. I cannot honestly remember a jam in it. I used to use it as a camping/truck gun but upgraded to a 10mm for the power.

The only thing I ever replaced were the mag followers (plastic) and I had 3 of them break within about 2 months. I ordered 5 replacements and I have 2 spares but no problems in several years.

If you want a reliable easy to shoot 40, this is it.

i use my 96 as my duty weapon. it is the most controlable and accurate .40 i have ever handled (glock 22, sig 229)...i ws about to write off the .40 before shooting the beretta.

i got it used and have put about 3k rounds throught it without a FTF or FTE. i had ernest langdon rebuild the top end and replace the locking block whenhe did the trigger tune.

for casual carry i'm using the fobus paddle holster, for somthing more discreet i'm using an alessi ACP

Mine shoots great, is very reliable and fits my hand like a glove. Only one malfunction due to me limp wristing it. I carry it also (big gun, yes, but it can be done) Easiest thing I've ever field stripped to. Shoots a heck of a lot better than I do. :D
