Just curious.

I have way more than I need as I've been picking it up at the range for a few years.

I know most people don't reload it and leave it on the ground, almost like 9 mm.

If it can be sold, what would be a good price? I was thinking $4/100.

When I started reloading I bought some 9mm cheap as I didn’t have enough brass.
I guess if it’s cheap enough I’d buy more. Right now I’m trying to figure out where to shoot. One thing I miss is having a range 15 min away.

I would, if I could get it without paying shipping. Is your island Whidbey by any chance? I go there every year in June

The are a few listings for 223 brass here. It should give you a general idea.

If cleaned and sorted by headstamp, it will bring you more.
I have bought some from members here in the recent past. Seems I paid +$50 per thousand.

I don't want to put the time into cleaning and sorting, too lazy. All I have is a small Lyman dry media cleaner that doesn't clean like a wet tumbler. Not really set up to clean that much brass. The brass in the link looks like it's been cleaned with a wet tumbler.

Maybe $3/100 :D

Unless you know where a commercial outfit is doing mass reloading, the only other possibility is recycling it as scrap, AFAIK.

I always pick up range brass..... The only way I ever sold any was for scrap. Got a couple plastic tubs and all range pick up or stuff I discard gets de-primed on a Lee Universal Decapper and thrown in the tubs. Used to have a separate tub for Berdan primed brass when I used to shoot a lot of that in mil-surps years ago and even sold all that for scrap. Takes years to fill a tub but I'm not in a hurry. Some times I'll save some decent looking reloadable brass for my own reloading (too bad I don't have anything in .223, LOL) . When the tubs fill up I check the price on scrap brass, which goes up & down frequently, and if it's fairly high it's time to visit the scrap yard. Last year I got another tub for 22 rimfire brass because there's so much of that laying around. Get a few handfuls every range trip plus my own empties. The club likes it because I'm helping to keep the range clean. Have never sold any of that yet but when the tub is full I'll see if it's worthwhile. The rimfire tub is getting pretty heavy and it's only half full so it may be worth it.

If you only ensure there is minimal to no berdan primed cases, I would think you could sell them at least $30 per 1000.

If you prepped it all, you may get some money for it.

I'm given brass all the time by several different people, so I have more than I know what to do with. Whatever I don't use, I give to a friend who also reloads. I wouldn't pay for it....but some might?

do you have a lot? 4/100 is pretty good, mixed stamp and dirty, if i ever get down that way (im in birch bay) ill PM you

I think you can part ways with it for $30/1000 if it’s not real ugly. Like mentioned above just make sure a bunch isn’t berdan and throw in some extras to cover anything. I think a guy can put like 1500 or so in a medium flat rate box.

rangebrass.us gets $3.63/100 for 223/556 I have purchased from them in the past. Brass is no bad looking to start with. They give you ample extras to make up for culls.

Best bet for 9mm and 223 brass is scrap metal if you dont want it for yourself. Easy to sell as scrap and recycle, rathet than dealing with the hassle for something so common.
