Does Anyone Here Still Carry or Shoot DA/SA?

Weirdly, I own several Sigs.
A P239 9mm
A P239 357 SIG
And, a P229 9mm

But, all are DAK. For me, an old revolver shooter, that’s an ideal platform.

I have and old P226 9mm and a P232 .380 that are traditional DA/SA. Great guns. I carried a P220 for awhile. But, I’m not into the “Decock after the last shot” mindset anymore. So, they would not be a good fit for me anymore unless that’s all I carried and trained with for awhile.

I do. My most recent pistol purchase was a Beretta PX4. I've been shooting a 1911 almost exclusively for the past 30 years, but before that, I started with revolvers and then DA/SA autos before moving to the 1911.

The PX4 is my "old guy gun". In 9mm rather than .45 Auto (less recoil), polymer rather than steel (lighter weight), and while the 1911 isn't hard to field strip, the PX4 is easier. My PX4 came from Langdon with a trigger job and his performance trigger bar, and has a pretty good trigger, so I'm not giving up a whole lot, trigger-wise, leaving the 1911 for the PX4.

I do sometimes carry my CA PCR and I have carried my P01 in the past (the P01 is now up on consignment at a local shop, I'm keeping the PCR forever)

I hate DA/SA action semi autos, and don't own any. I like the consistency of a striker fired gun or a 1911.

However, I do like DA/SA revolvers...

I mentioned earlier I carry a Sig P239 on occasion. I have several SA and DA/SA guns. I only own two striker fired guns, both Glocks. One is a Glock 19 that is retired and the other is a Glock 20 that's purpose is for trips out deep in the woods.

I may by a Sig P365 soon. Shot one the other day and liked it. But I would have bought it already years ago if it was DA/SA

Lately I’ve been mostly carrying striker fired but I do occasionally carry a few da/sa handguns. The da/sa handguns I own that I carry are Walther p99 (striker but also da/sa since you didn’t specify hammer fired), cz p01, sig p220, hk p30, and hk usp 45c.

I'd carry this if my Glock 26 was broke.

I routinely carry a S&W CS45 DA/SA (3rd GEN S&W design), AL frame SS slide 3 1/4" barrel, 6+1 45acp. It's a handful (recoil) but carries well in a IWB. It will feed anything and always goes bang, but the trigger is heavy = DA too high for me to measure with my trigger gage, SA is 6lbs after smoothing/polishing the internals and installing a reduced power return spring. I also have and shoot a FNX 40, nice DA and SA trigger, 14+1, and I shoot it well. The FNX really makes me want to get a FNX-45. Recently I have taken to shooting 1911s and really appreciate the feel and triggers. The CS45 = well armed with one extra mag on my belt but sometimes I would like more capacity and my range is limited, FNX-40 = great full size/easy to shoot well out to 25 yards, great capacity 14+1 + 2 mags = 43 rds. DW Vigil (1911 LW commander) = best of both worlds when I carry two 8-round mags = 25 rds.

Beretta 92FS checking in! First quality pistol I ever owned, buying it back in the good ol' Clinton days. Lightened DA spring, decocker mod, runs on any and all ammo, accurate as hell, and I love shooting it!

Heck ya!

My favorite and most accurate EDC is my Sig P229 in 9mm. The difference is measurable between that and any Glock that I own. The preferred ammo there is Federal 124 HST.

I just acquired a P226 from a burned out Cold War Warrior. That shooter (the gun, not the guy) is nothing but fun on the range.

I carry my old West German Sig P220 decocker .45 with 8 or 10 round mags in Calif and other 10 round states . I carried a 1911 for 4 decades but as I grow older I prefer the Sig or CZ Decockers . I do require they have short reset mods and my CZ97BD 10 round has an 7 pound DA 3 pound SA 1mm reset and the Sig 220 with Graygun mods has a 8 pound DA and 3.5 pound SA with short reset.
When you get the DA down below 8 pounds and the SA 4 pounds or less with a short reset all the old "crunchenticker" complaints of Col. Cooper and others goes away and for me are safer with no hammer to lower manually !
