A few months ago, I asked, "What will it take for you to....." I then cited things that I'd put off for no good reason(s)b. but that needed to be done.

I was told that "everyone on THR has already done those things..." Gee, I guess I'm the only one that let things go unaddressed...

I had a lot of reloading components. I can't shoot components, so I resolved to assemble them into ammo. I'd not loaded for a year or two, as I'd had plenty of ammo loaded from previous sessions. I also made deals on ammo, etc, so needing to load my own ammo wasn't as essential as it had been in earlier times. Still, I was alarmed by how little shootable .45 acp ammo I had. (factory ball is held in reserve) I loaded up nearly 3000 rds, so I feel a little better now.

.44 magnum? I had taken a lever-action carbine class a couple years ago and used up much of my .44 ammo for it. I didn't realize I only had about 350 rds left, including factory and Gold Dot reloads. I loaded up all the .44 cases I had, including some .44 Special and now have 1100+.

I bought 300 bullets for the 30-30 about 10-12 years ago. I also bought brass, then, too. Time to make 'em into ammo.

I learned a thing or two from the recent/current ammo/component shortage: BUY NOW, LOAD NOW, then BUY MORE COMPONENTS to have on hand should things revert to the peak of the shortage levels.

The shortage forced me to ask myself the question: "How much ammo is enough...... if there is no resupply?"

If you have components, what's keeping you from assembling them into ammo?

I've got a lot of reloading to catch up on as well....

no where near the quantities you're talking about, but a lot for me...

building a barn, finishing a basement room into a shop, fixing roof leaks, repairing sheet rock and finishing trim work on our house has kind of put a crimp in my fun time....

such is life...

as least I have something to look forward to :)

I generally wait till winter to do all my reloading, unfortunately where I reload is also my wood shop, glass shop and min-machine shop. I start collecting reload supplies around Feb~March through the end of Nov. I shut down all my "honey-dew", cabinets, and glasswork by the end of Nov, clean everything up then setup the reloading equipment. From about Dec through March I reload, and I reload a lot, about 20k of .40, .38, 7.62, .30 30, .308, 9mm, and .40.
One of these days, I hope anyway, we buy a smaller ranch with is 300'x400' detached garage that's heated where I can heat, partition, 220v, and where I can move a 4'x8' sheet of plywood w/o having to cut it up upstairs in the garage then carry it into the basement shop. :cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss:
