Don't know where the nearest range is? Now you do!

I was popup free due to my use of firefox, this was really helpful thanks. I like that it actually gives you info about the range not just that it exists.

Check the NRA web site "Places to shoot". I found a club 10 miles from my house $60 per year. No web site no adds no other info except NRA site.

Nearest unrestricted (Full Power Rifle Range) is 50 miles one way, It's free but the drive is a killer (traffic).

I know several pistol and rimfire ranges and high priced indoor ($15 hr+) ranges (out of my price range) are closer.

My one local shooting range is there but somehow they have it in two different locations more than 20 miles apart, but with the same address.

???

Looks like this could actually be very useful.

I only had to close one popup, after that no problems.

The very FIRST place that popped up in my search...

Washington DC Metropolitan Police Firing Range
4665 Blue Plains Dr.
S.W. Washington DC 20032
202-645-0069
Description: Private
- Outdoor Pistol (25 yds), Indoor Pistol (25 yds), Pistol Silhouette

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA <GASP> HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh God, could you just picture a citizen showing up THERE and asking for a lane!

They are missing the ranges I most commonly shoot at, though some of the other ones around here are on there.

Thanks for the tip Anti -
It didn't show the range in Oroville near the airport. OTOH I learned about a range in Gridley I didn't know about.

Well, cops are citizens, so yes, I could.

If you want a good site, http://wheretoshoot.org/ is a solid recommendation.

This is the LAST place you want to go to shoot. It's an outdoor range next to the largest Sewage Treatment plant in the DC area. Considering the heat and humidity in this area, you DEFINITELY don't want to be around on a slightly breezy day in August.:barf: :barf: :barf:

great site, thanks.

no popups for me (using firefox), just got one "pop under".

It is a useful site but it doesn't include Conservation area and city park ranges and in my area it missed at least one membership range that I know of.

my favorite link
http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/mendocino/recreation/regs/

Fireworks and Firearms:

* Fireworks and explosives are prohibited in the National Forests.
* Firing a gun is not allowed: in or within 150 yards of a residence, building; campsite, developed recreation site, or occupied area. across or on a road or body of water; in any circumstance whereby any person may be injured or property damaged.

The indoor range that I go to was not in any of the three sites' databases.

I also enjoy shooting at a well kept state game land range.

Awesome. I found one range I wasn't aware of. Wait, pistol only?! Well, probably couldn't shoot there even if I had one.
