DoubleTap!

Remington makes excellent subsonic JHP load in .45ACP. Although always pricey it might be just the ticket for this thing.

Handled one in the LGS today. Looks for all the world like a waffle iron. Feels a little like one too. I can't see the point - seems like an answer to a question nobody asked.

With the size of a number of CCW-type handguns these days, I see no point to any type of derringer.

If I'm going to be limited to two rounds, they'll be 12-gauge (and not in a handgun). :neener:

I love small guns and have a few that are solely for novelty. That would be the only use for this (or any 2 shot derringer). I haven't held one, but reading about the DoubleTap it doesn't seem small enough to justify only 2 rounds.

I thought Heizer defense backed out of the deal to make the DoubleTap before production even started? Did another company step forward or did some sneak out the door?

herrwalther Double tap owners did step away from heizer just be for production. Why!!! Guess you to could read up on the double tap history. That's what I did .

I do know the owner of the company that's building the pistol for double tap has a 40 years history of making military grade weapons. They started in my home town with a branch company- Defense Research. They were making all sorts of military hardware from mines to barrels, firearms to missles . Now adays and 4 or 5 companies sold later there now Azimuth Technologies. http://www.azimuthtechnology.com/

I have been interested in these since all the hububb about them started on the interweb.I finally held one today. It is much bigger than I thought and decidedly ugly to my eyes. No thank you.:barf:

Not something I see picking up myself either, but I applaud Heizer for trying something different. Where else do you get innovation, etc. - but to try new things - right?

the 'answer to a question...' line should come with a one month suspension of your membership.

I would rather have: LC9, S&W CS, XDs,...... I have a feeling Double Tap will go the way of the COP.

"..very light..."
Compared to what, a bowling ball? It has two steel barrels instead of one. The entire upper half is steel.
My Kahr P45 holds eight rounds of .45acp and feels like it weighs loaded what that "thing" weighs empty.

That was an honest difference of opinion, which is encouraged.
Personal attacks are a different matter, and I'm sure you can tell the difference.

I agree. For a pistol not much bulkier than the Doubletap, I can go with a G26 and get 8 more rounds.

My wife wanted a Bond Derringer for her FlashBang holster. I told her the Bond weighs as much as my P95. She didn't believe me. Off we go to a gun shop she likes that is run by a woman. She puts the Bond in her FlashBang. The strings were sinking into her skin. She left there very happy with the 9mm Cobra Derringer I bought for her. The Flashbang holds a Cobra derringer like a cradle.
