Our opener was today at noon . They haven’t cut the corn yet , but my friend planted some sunflowers beside the corn and cut it last week . We didn’t have a lot of doves flying in today . I only shot 6 times . I got 3 birds . I was shooting better than I usually do hitting doves . I broke back out my old Browning A5 . I had kind of semi retired it , but it fits me good and I seem to shoot it better than my other shotguns . My dad gave me that gun , which use to be his , when I was about 13 years old .

Our dove season opened today in Mississippi. First time I’ve hunted doves in at least fifteen years. I started quail hunting last year and decided that I want my daughter to have the opportunity to enjoy the experience of an opening morning dove hunt. We had roughly 300 birds yesterday morning, but as doves are prone to do, they disappeared this morning. We probably killed 35-40 birds this morning between 10 shooters. We decided not to hunt this afternoon and they saw 600 birds and everybody limited out within an hour. Go figure. 46026F2A-9A19-4500-8E4C-9B89EAB359F6.jpeg CFA9FF70-867C-4C4F-BEFF-F7AA2E176521.jpeg 47CBFE5E-99F4-4FE6-9A50-8AFBF2B9E308.jpeg

Love shooting doves but don’t real enjoy the meat anymore. Since I’m not consuming it I’m not gonna go out anymore and shoot them.

Enjoy and safe shooting.
