Machine: full size Bridgeport mill

Cutter: Ptg .300 60 degree dove tail high speed steel.

How do I calculate speed and feed for this Cutter?

Do I treat it like a end mill and calculate the speed and feed accordingly?

If not could you please show me how to make the calculations?

First do a cut down the center with a std endmill smaller than the slot. This will take the bulk of the load off the cutter. I run my at 600 rpm but I'm working on SS which is a little tougher.

I had planned on cutting .250 inch out of the center first.

I will try 600 rpm, the barrel is carbon steel from my personal Ruger Wrangler 22lr. I cut the barrel down to 5 inches and cut a 11 degree target grown on my lathe.

Thank you for your answer

^this.
On the Bridgeport for small carbon steel I run the dove tail cutter faster ~1200 and micro carbide drills ~2000 rpm for the stainless components.
I did this NAA Black Widow project which was combination of hardened red dot sight mount modification and drilling tapping stainless frame for the adapter mount.
