Went down the 9MM 1911 rabbit hole a couple of months ago with a Colt Competition. Pistol shoots well and is accurate out of the box. She is even more accurate now with my old eyes. EGW has a dot mount to fit Novak cut slides. I like it...

Have the .45 version; nice pistol. Decent trigger out of the box; the .45 version has double recoil springs, which eases the recoil.

I almost bought the .45. My LGS had both and the 9mm had the better out of the box trigger so I decided to give the 9 a try. The 9 has the double spring setup as well. I bought it for a range pistol and she fits the bill nicely.

The double springs won't matter as much with the 9 (really think they calm the .45 version). Stumbled on to mine, used, as new. It remains one of my favorite 1911s, for looks as well as function.
