Help me decide, please:

I'm looking for a 9mm target pistol, since .45 costs too much to shoot regularly and sometimes I just don't want to shoot it. Debating between two very different guns, namely the Dan Wesson Pointman 9 and the CZ 75 Shadow T-SA.

My thinking is that I want a SAO, adjustable sights, that I won't need to do any additional work on. Granted, I want a LBC Monolith Heavyweight, but not at twice the price.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Ugh... This is an extremely hard choice. I love both models, the 1911 and the CZ. That being said, I believe that the 1911 was designed for .45. The CZ was designed for 9mm. For that reason alone, I would go with the CZ. Though, you really can't go wrong with either. Be sure to post up pics when you get it, whatever "it" happens to be!

That'd be an easy choice for me, because, much like the previous poster, I just feel that 1911's are supposed to be in 45. The Pointman will be 2.4 lbs and hold 9 rounds. The CZ will be about 2.2 lbs and hold 18 rounds (both +1 of course). I'm assuming that these won't be for carry, but for target shooting instead. Regardless of that fact, I just feel that the 1911 should be a 45 caliber launcher, and that you really don't gain anything having one for 9 (other than lower ammo costs). Just my .02.

I'd get the CZ75B. You won't be disappointed with that gun. Pick up a DW 1911 in .45acp down the road if you still want one. :)

My other concern is that I have short fingers, so the 1911 grip fits my hand all so well and the angle is near perfect, but the 75 would be a few hundred bucks less.

So conflicted. So many choices, so little cash:banghead:

Buy a Dillon SDB and load millions of rounds of 9mm.

Or buy a Dillon 550 and load millions of rounds of .45acp, 9mm and whatever else you want, and live happily ever after.

The good thing about CZ75s is the grip is about as small in girth as a double stack, non polymer framed pistol can be. It is no 1911, but it feels appreciably smaller than a Beretta 92.

Since that CZ75 Shadow T-SA appears to come with the super slim aluminum grips, the girth of the grip ought to be that much smaller than a standard CZ.

The Smith & Wesson Model 952 might just be the finest 9mm target pistol ever made. It is especially suited for Bullseye shooting-with no "additional work" required.

You'll be blown away by the Shadow, you made the right choice. 9mm 1911's while nice, are a headache, in 9mm a CZ Shadow is as good as it gets.

Plus, with the thin grips the CZ will be thinner than a 1911 wearing slim-lines, many find them actually too thin...

I have several 9mm pistols, including a CZ and 2 1911s, nothing is as accurate as my STI Trojan 1911. The other is an old Colt series 70 with the short trigger, it is a rattle trap but still shoots great. The only 9mm pistol I have that shoots close to the STI is a Glock G34. My tiny wife loves shooting the STI 1911, slim grips, very low recoil and shoots very tight groups. The STI with it's ramped barrel cycles the 9mm flawlessly, starting price around $1K. http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=3040000-1095448367 Of your 2 choices I would prefer the 1911, while the CZ 75 deserves all it's praises, in my hands the 1911 will shoot much better.
