Hennepin County authorities were looking for a car and its driver today after a run-in with a deputy on Friday afternoon.
The deputy was on security duty at a social services office at 12th St. and 3rd Av. S. in Minneapolis. He and another officer were checking the driver's identity when the car sped off, WCCO Radio reported.
The car then returned, and came toward the deputy. He fired his gun at the car, sheriff's officials said. They do not believe the bullet hit the car.
The car had Minnesota license plate GTR-344. It is a maroon 1991 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
