Anyone know the deal with buying ivory stocked guns now? I’ve asked several times but I usually get shouted down or told to “look it up.” That Winchester is incredible.

I’d never even heard of an ivory stocked rifle Until seeing that one, it is amazing!

Stay safe.

You would have to settle for micarta these days. But I think it's legal to buy a pre-existing ivory stocked gun. I mean ..... if you have the $$$$$$

That 1866 Winchester is just .....too pretty for me.

Those Volcanic pistols doe.....

If Henry made something similiar in .22 or maybe .32acp, Id buy a pair of 'em.

I doubt they see enough market to tool up for it. But it could be done. Some years ago, I read of an advanced hobbyist building a Volcanic repro. To keep it the size of an original, he shortened .40 S&W cases so a loaded round came out about the OAL of a Rocket Ball. Not very powerful, but a challenging build project and fun to shoot.

R.I.A. Co. is 25 miles from my house. I often go to their previews and drool in person. It makes one tingle to stand in a room with millions of dollars of rare and historical firearms. I would post a pic but photography is not allowed. The really high end stuff ( which is 90%of the room) is either in cases or you're not allowed to touch them.. A few years back I did get permission to snap a pic of this plain looking trapdoor. It is an experimental gun because it is a 30-40. The army only made a tiny handful of them.

And my #&%$@*& puter' is drunk again! Sorry for the inversion....
