I've been shooting handguns for about 9yrs now and consider myself a pretty good shot, but I've never before been able to use both eyes when sighting. I would always end up focusing on the wrong picture or going crosseyed. i've always felt this was a problem as I wear contacts and squinting tends to make them blur.
I was doing my usual nightly dry fire practice at the TV (four rules always observed) and i sudddenly realized I was focusing on the front sight properly and had a good sight picture, but I wasnt closing one eye. I thought maybe it was a fluke so I did some random walking around and quickly bringing up my pistol on target.... still kept both eyes open! I stopped for a show and forgot about it in my boob tube stupor. After the show I picked up my peice again quickly dropprd the mag and racked the slide, brought it up on target (some idiot on reality Tv).... both eyes open! I'm cured! I cant wait to get some ammo this weekend and try it for real.
