Dry firing the XD45 or any striker fired gun

My question is for you smiths/armorers out there.

I'm a big proponent of dry firing. I do it often and I use snap caps. For years I dry fired my Colt Commander by just recocking the hammer and firing again...

My concern is with my Springfield XD45. Since I can't just recock the hammer and I don't want to keep reloading mags I just pull the slide back about an inch, just enough to reset the trigger without ejecting the snap cap and fire again.

Anyone see a problem with this?
