So. I was wondering... what's the most far-fetched story you've heard regarding any potential bans/restrictions on guns/ammo?

Yesterday, I had a guy at my counter telling me that Obama was going to outlaw ammunition for ALL SEMIAUTOMATIC FIREARMS.
So I looked around. And started naming off calibers that would be banned. In other words... everything we sold, excluding .45-70 (Though I'm sure there's a few of those out there)
".17HMR, .22, .223, .222, .204, .22-250, .25-06, 25 Auto, .32, .30, .30-06, .308, 7.62x39, 5.56x45, .38, .380, .357, 9mm, .40, .45, .44, .41...." all the way through the shotgun bores.
He just stared at me and said... "Well... yeah."

The other one was that there was a firearm ban buried in the stimulus package.

Encoded ammo isn't a rumor. Cam interviewed the guy pushing for this particularly stupid idea on his radio show over a year ago.

Thankfully ammo encoding doesn't seem to be going anywhere on either a state or federal level, but it has been proposed and there are at least two companies pushing for it to be legally mandated.

I heard they (gungrabbers) weren't going to take our guns. Instead they would make so many little common sense laws that it would be very difficult to buy or own guns.

On the FEMA camps--In the event of Biological outbreak --these things would exist as quarantine areas and places to get rid of biohazard waste ie: infected that had died.

The Gubmint has to have a way to deal with a serious Bio event say mutated Smallpox or what have you.

So yes FEMA camps exist and are real but are there for TEOTWAKI not for locking up people that don't like the Gubmint--eeeshh!

If the Government is trying to stop weapons and Ammo production the BATF must have missed the memo since they were very helpful getting some local folks a Manufacturing license to build AR receivers.
