This gun has been on my want list since it was announced, and is now shipping. Be careful of the scam sights. I'm seeing it supposedly available for too good to be true pricing on some scam sights. They include armscenter.org and danwessonfirearmstore.com. You'll want to avoid those 2 sites.

Sadly no rail though, DW did say that version is coming.
Thinking I might wait for the railed optic ready version.

I've got the full sized, it's an awesome pistol and worth the price of admission.
My desire for a highish end 2011 is now watered down.

This is the one I’ve been waiting for. By the time I save the money they’ll hopefully be available. I wonder if they’ll do it in 40 S&W as originally planned.

Baffling they waited this long and didn’t release it optic ready.

I was gung-ho for one of these in 2020 but ended up losing patience and getting the Wilson. It’s fine and scratches that itch, though I still think the “right” one of these style guns for me would be a Legion 229.

The man in charge over at Dan Wesson is fairly active on a 1911 forum. When asked this same question about why it's not optic ready from the get go, his answer is " it would've required a redesign". A redesign at this point would have flat out killed the DWX in his words.

So they released a product for what had designed at that point and are working on optic ready models.

I have a 226 legion, the DWX flat out smokes that pistol. It's a better pistol than my tricked out CZ shadow 2.
I also have the new TS 2 Orange, haven't shoot it yet but highly curious on how they compare.

I like the Legion because my hands don’t really like compact CZ frames. Doubt this one will be any different.

I bought an EDC X9. I like the 2011 type guns so much I also picked up the X9S as well as the Staccato P, C2 and a few weeks ago the CS. I have no need for the DWX and my gun budget is depleted for a while, but something tells me I'll eventually pick up the DWX.

Keeping my eye out for one as well, after they eve been out for a bit but I’ve actually went the other way and have been gravitating to DA/SA guns over SAO once I finally learned how to shoot them good.

Gun money has dried up a lot in the past few years so I’ve gotta be real choosy right now.
