Hello peeps! I decided to get my early bday present for myself today(my bday is not until next month) since i had to give up my 3" in order to afford my benelli MR1, I just love how the sp101 shoots and the fact that its a very accurate and reliable..I had to say that the 1/2 inch difference is very noticable when i was trying it today, i was not expecting much of a diffence but man was i wrong!:what: I can really feel that i am shooting a 357 mag. here it is my SP101 in 357 w/ ct grips..

nice purchase.

Let me know how you like tht CT grip. I've been toying with the idea of putting one on my .357 snubby.

Quoheleth the recoil in the 3" is much more forgiving than this one, I can really "feel" the recoil on this one but its still fun to shoot though, i did 25 round of each 38special and 357 factory loads..

what is the difference in the overal weight between the two guns, do you know?

I had the 3" one and shooting 158gr out of it wasn't bad. I hated shooting 125gr magnums - not only a very sharp slap to the palm, but very "torquey" too.

I had thought of a 2" tube, but if I ever replace this, I'll go back to the 3" I think. Thanks for the answer...

Q

rha600 i'm not sure but it does seemed alot of diffrenence in weight..

Got ya. I was just wondering if just the overall build of the gun might have contributed to the increase in felt recoil. I mean obviously the shorter barrel will have an affect ont he reduced weight but I was just wondering if there was more to it.

Still a very nice looking gun.
