It would appear that Ebay has now decided that black powder locks are now a prohibited item. please take the time to let them know this is going to have a negative effect in their buisness

How will it impact their business enough to have a negative effect when it is a tiny fraction of their transactions.

Yes, complain, but complain that this is an arbitrary and pointless decision on their part.

Ebay is a super liberal left wing CA company.

I used to sell nearly $13k in firearms parts and accessories, patches, etc. out of Ebay a year.

First they attacked MAgpul products citing problems with counterfeits. Then they attacked "assault weapon" parts to the point where I had to rename firing pin retaining pins to "rifle cotter pins". I got 4 people in two months who claimed I never sent their product...It was four of about 250 orders and even with a 98.9% POSITIVE feedback they shut me down.

To this day i have sent probably 40 emails asking why and they never answer them. If I sent other emails they answer them right away.

For that reason I never use Ebay.

I swore off Ebay years ago because of all of the fragile items I bought which the sellers tossed into an oversized empty box with no packing material and every item was destroyed in the shipping process or I would receive an empty smashed up box. Even when I communicated with the seller and pleaded with them to carefully pack the items. Way too many irresponsible idiots who just don't care on Ebay in addition to Paypal's anti gun stance and their practice of ripping off both buyers and sellers with all of their "fees". Ebay was a great concept but it just isn't worth the aggravation. Ebay is nothing but a giant scam for suckers. Never again.

E-Bay is an evil anti-firearm ownership empire that provides financing to the assorted anti-firearm groups. Pay Pal is owned by the same gang.
Both have been known to cancel customer accounts of people selling firearms related stuff and confiscate the funds in said accounts.

Ebay has been very useful to me in my gun collecting. You just have to learn to use it in a smart way, within whatever arbitrary rules are in effect at any given time. (I've seen workarounds that you wouldn't believe.)

It's true that ebay is much friendlier to buyers than it is to sellers.

I stay away from Ebay as much as possible. Used to be a regular buyer until all the counterfeit stuff started popping up. Now I have little trust with the sellers in general. I don't even know what their rules are anymore.

Dang, I must be the odd man out, but whenever I need soemthing like a new grip, magazine, spring or spring kit, holster, sights, etc.etc. I always check e-bay right along with Midway and Brownells. Ebay seems to often have the very best price, and often with free shipping (which is especially nice when ordering some piddly $2 spring or screw, that some of the big boys will want friggin' $9 to ship).
Sure, you gotta be wary of who you're buying from, but I've had very positive results with them. Plus, they're all so desperately worried about their feedback rating, they usually have me a tracking number within the hour, even when I order at 11:00 at night LOL!!

I left and never looked back many years ago. Sellers ad stated item was used but fully working functional, sold as is. Claim denied by Ebay when item was actually non working DOT DOT DOT.

I do a huge amount of shopping with eBay.

But what I don't do is shop for used, collectible or high end items.

But when I need a grip, scope ring or holster it beats the crap out of scrounging enough items I don't need together to justify handling and shipping on a midway or brownells order.

You gotta use your head with eBay some things are best seen in person

I buy a bunch of stuff on E-Bay for my small business and mostly it's worked quite well for me. The very few times things weren't okay were quickly sorted out by the seller to my satisfaction. The very, very few times I ended up on the short end were almost 100% my fault. If you're careful who you buy from and know local costs and supply you can do quite well with them.

I've rarely ever purchased any weapons related items -but the few were carefully chosen low value accessories.

When I do find a good supplier I make a point of establishing a B to B relationship that carefully excludes E-Bay - and we both benefit....

Ten years ago I sold a lot on ebay. Then the fees got rediculous and they banned a lot of firearm stuff.

So I stopped, In the big picture I was small potatos so Meg Whitman didnt care if doc listed or not,.

I've never used ebay and never plan to. Amazon has near everything I want and anything else I'll just get somewhere else.

Ive used ebay since they began and have only had a hiccup maybe twice . For most stuff I have moved to Amazon but for used stuff in building projects there is no other outlet sometimes. Guns are just one hobby.

I have no problem with eBay. My philosophy is -- don't buy anything on eBay that you're not willing to lose the entire purchase price if the deal goes bad.
As someone that sells more on EBay than I buy, your fears are unfounded. EBay has many more protections for buyers than sellers. If the buyer complains, EBay will refund them their money, simple as that.

On the other hand I'm constantly getting deadbeats that bid, win and then don't pay. (More with gun stuff than anything else) EBay does nothing to weed out the deadbeats.

Ebay sucks for sellers. In any dispute they will automatically rule in favor of the buyer. I have even provided photographic and video proof in my last dispute and they still ruled against me. Buyers have 30 or 60 days (i can't remember which) to "examine" items and return if they don't want. Theoretically someone could buy an item, use it for weeks then dump it in the ocean and then return claiming "item listed not as described" and ebay will still rule in their favor....at 4am so i think it's just an algorithm that is automatic. I deleted my account years ago and haven't looked back. Lousy unethical company.

I used to sell quite a bit on EBay. Then they started requiring that you accept Paypal. Then they went up on their fees. So I haven't used them in several years and don't miss them at all.

yep paypal says I owe them $500 for something I didn't know anything about and later when I figured out what happened someone hacked my account and bought stuff in my name and so someone must of knew I was out of town when this happened so they came by and picked their stuff off my porch so I ended up having authorites investigate and they ruled in my favor that I was hacked and so I provided all the info to paypal but they didn't care and demanded me to pay this $500 back even tho I had proof I didn't have any idea this went on! so I told them to stick it and never looked back!
