Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and was wondering if anyone can help me with a project. I am in urgent need of 30 empty primer trays (100 count) with the cardboard sleeve. They can be either LR, LP or I'll even take some 209 primer trays. Can anyone come to my assistance? My e-mail is [email protected] if you can help. Thanks.

The reason for needing these trays is to store a bunch of loose primers - not to safe the way I have them now. Recycled a bunch of old rounds (approx. 2400) and salvaged the brass, bullets and primers.

Wish I could help, but I always throw those away. Next time I reload I'll check and see if this thread is active and send them your way if you still want them. I usually go through 4 or 5 trays at a session.

hey malbilly, pardon my prying, but why do you need them? I'm just curious what other use there would be for them...

"...for storing diamonds..." Itty bitty diamonds.
Malbilly, you really need to tell us what you're doing with 'em. The curiosity will hurt some of us and we may be able to give you some ideas for an alternate. Primer packaging tends to get pitched.

Tell us where you live

I toss several trays a week out in the trash. At times I let the kids play with the drill press and a couple empty trays.
If you live nearby, we might give you some.

The reason the OP wants them is obvious. He's from the other side. Lab analysis will prove that the trays contain traces of hazmat stuff. He will provide this information to your politicos and they will draft legislation mandating that we dispose of said trays in a safe (and expensive) manner. :what:

Or, his kid needs them to sort jewlry beeds. :D

Actually I used them to count steel shot! I bet nobody thought of that.:uhoh: Small primers for the smaller shot, large---- well you get the drift.

Loading steel shot 12 ga required either weighed or counted shot. It was easier to dip, shake and pour the required #'s into each shell.

snuffy- that's a pretty dang good idea. You're right (at least pertaining to me), I never thought about that. But there again, I don't go through enough steel shot to warrant reloading it. And with the price increase of lead shot in the last 3 years, it's been about that long since I've done any shotshell reloading. Well shot price and I did have a pretty good supply built up. Still have a couple thousand left before I need to get back at it. Maybe the cost of lead will be back down some more (I doubt it).

I don't drink while assembling rounds but I do drink at parties.

As a sidenote: When the law passed in CA for no smoking in bars, I said be careful, soon there will be no drinking and no talking.

Where's the O.P.? I loaded 400 rounds last night, dug a couple more out of the trash, I need a place to send them!!!???¿¿

I know what I use my empties for...

Coasters for Mountain Dew cans on my reloading bench. :D
