Anyone have a No4 Mk1 enfield handy? Can you measure how tall the front sight blade is above the centerline of the bore? I have a sporterized one which I made a thread about on here and I am curious if I can find a tall enough front sight blade to allow me to use the original flip up peep sight.

The No4 Mk1 and the No1 MkIII both had replaceable front sight blades that varied in height.
Here’s a .075 sight blade in one of my No4 Mk1’s. The front sight protector has been removed.

Here’s the measurement from the centerline of the bore to the top of the sight.

I think there were at least four different sights for the no 4. If your rifle is shooting high you need a higher front sight and if it is shooting low you need a lower sight. There is no way to tell other than shooting it.
