Well, England has perhaps the strictest gun control of any nation on the Earth. However, even with all its strict gun control, making it impossible for even the most respecful law abiding citizen to obtain even a small pistol for defense, there has been a bloody massacre that has hit proporitions that are worse than many of those in the USA. Even, the police in England have a hard time carrying weapons, and usually they have to resort to special units who are trained in firearms to stop an armed threat.

The UK parliaments reaction is to make guns even MORE ILLEGAL! What are they going to do now, give the death penalty to any criminal found with a gun? They already throw people in prison for years who are caught with one. The criminals don't care about England's gun laws and illegal guns in England are becoming more and more available. We can thank England's government for making the people weak, pathetic and helpless. How sad.

Their gun control didn't fail, it worked perfectly! There wasn't a soul able to defend themselves.

"Well, England has perhaps the strictest gun control of any nation on the Earth."

Way off on that one. People can own centerfire rifles (bolt action only), .22 rifles (bolt and semiauto) and shotguns.

This guy used a semiauto .22 and a shotgun.

Many places have a complete ban on civilian firearms ownership, but the UK isn't one of those places.

I guess I am off by a small margin.. Sorry.. As far as I know, people in England cannot even store their guns in their houses. The people who are allowed to own centerfire rifles and shotungs have to live far outside any urban area. People in London cannot own guns at all, from what I am told.
A .22?? Good luck defending your life with a .22.. I wouldn't brag about that.

let me rephrase, England has the strongest gun control in Western Europe. Almost every European country has more gun rights than England. Its true that Eastern Europe has perhaps more strict gun control laws, but I am told most Eastern Europeans have ways to circumvent the laws, since their government's are generally more corrupt and look the other way to people breaking laws.

I see you live in Singapore, so let me make a new statement, "Singapore has the strictest gun control laws on the earth." I hear even owning a gun will make you eligible for the death penalty.

Total crap I’m afraid. All handguns are banned except Long Barrelled Revolvers (LBR in .357 and .44 mag and .22) and muzzle-loading pistols. Semi-auto centrefire guns are banned except .22 rimfire. You can still own traditional semi-autos like AK47, AR15 etc but they must have the semi auto-function disabled and reconfigured to a straight-pull arrangement whereby you have to manually pull back the bolt to eject and reload a shell from the mag.

Everything else is okay from .17 to .50 cal so long as you can show good reason and have secure storage in your home (gunsafe). You can own as many shotguns as you like including pump and living in London or any urban area (except a high crime area) makes no difference at all

@ calibre44
Do they have a solution for the pistol events of the london olympics yet?
Otherwise I would suggest moving this events to Belgium:D
