I searched the net and this forum looking for other poeple with a similiar complaint but found nothing, although I'm quite sure I can't be the only person :banghead:
I bought an EOTech EXPS2-0 and a sightmark 5x magnifier with the slide to side mount. The EXPS with its QD base sits up I think 6-7 mm than normal. I really like the the base it's a really well designed quick detach lever. However, wouldn't you imagine that a sight designed for use with a magnifier with the buttons on the SIDE be created compatable with magnifiers that are all designed at the height of a regular EOTech. I think EOTech's ridiculously expensive magnifier does have a compatable option.
I can see the dot fine through the magnifier after adjusting the elevation screw nearly maxed out but it bothers me. Or maybe magnifier companies haven't had time to design their bases for use with the new EXPS.
The only solution I can think of is 3/4" riser under the magnifier and a 1/2" riser under the EOTech but that kind of makes the quick detach levers on both optics pointless.
Perhaps I could buy a new base for the EXPS and do without the nice QD base?
