Looks like they are going to be offering a 3X and 4X magnifier for the EOTech.

This letter is from Eotech about the new product.

Thanks for the questions and support. We will have (2) magnifiers that we are launching at the 2007 SHOT show in Orlando. They will not be ready for delivery until March/April timeframe, but I think you will like what we have.

The first is a 3X magnifier, much like the Aimpoint, but our optical quality and transmission is better than the Aimpoint. It will be offered with one of two mounts- The first is a flip to the side mount that also offers an ARMS throw lever to quickly disconnect the magnifier. The second is a fixed mount, but it will still offer the ARMS quick disconnect. Approximate pricing will be $400-$500.

The second magnifier is a 4X that has equal or better optical quality than a Trijicon ACOG. In addition, it will maintain the rectangular sight picture of the HWS window, increasing the field of view. Approximate pricing will be $750-$800.

Currently, we do not have an established spec sheet that I can send you. If you wish, feel free to contact me around Jan 1 and we should have this completed and approved for release. Any additional questions, feel free to ask.

Best regards,

John Bailey

they look cool but they are a little to rich for my blod going by those prices! even if those are list that is kinda rough.

Days like this are why I'm glad to be an EOTech dealer. :) My personal gun just cries out for one of these.

If it didn't cost almost as much as an ACOG I'd be jumping for joy. I wonder if it will detract from the ability to get a dot from just about any angle or cheek weld. It would be nice to increase the range of the EOtech since that dot can practically cover up small targets at 100 yards.

blackhawk2000: Doesn't the dot only cover up 1" @ 100 yds?
Just about. 1 MOA is nearly 1" at 100 yards. :) Not precisely, though.

I've tinkered around with this idea, and I like it al lot. Ask anybody who works at Outdoor America-they've seen me take a Tikka T3 with the Picatinny rail up top, slap an EOTech as far forward as it would go, and an ACOG TA01 behind it. The two lined up perfectly, and the EOTech reticle is perfectly (and clearly) visible, with the center dot being about as big as an AimPoint dot.

Then Fred (the owner) yelled at me for playing with $2500 worth of toys. :uhoh:

Great!!! :scrutiny: Okay, I now have 2 Eotech units, one on my RRA middy & the other on my CMMG 9mm...How long a rail am I going to need with the Eotech, magnifier & buis? :scrutiny:
As much as I might complain, I know I'm gonna get at least one! :neener:

It's a 1 MOA dot. Maybe it's my eyes but it took a big hunk out of the center of a 8" shoot n see target at 100 yards for me. I just tried to center it in the target.

For the $$, the Leupold CQ/T does all that for less.

1-3x magnification, Eotech style reticle, night vision, low-light illumination, and unlike the Eotech, if there's an electronics failure, you still have a black reticle....a much less fuzzy one at that.

Color me unimpressed.

Has anyone actually mounted and use the eotech magnifier? I would really like to read a field report from someone who has had the opportunity to use one. I would really like one but don't want to be the first.

Mike

Shot a CQT last month at a match. The lighted retical is worthless during the day. Low light, I'm sure it would be good. Tube dia was pretty small. I would like to see a bigger tube version.

Another guy I know who shoots a boatload of ammo, and teaches his own classes, has had both magnifiers, and he says the Eo mag, is better than the Aimpoint magnifier.

It's a 1 MOA dot.

It says it's a 1 MOA dot, but in reality it is much smaller. Somewhere on thier website it states this. I guess it was just easier for them to say 1 MOA.
