Escort 12 Gauge

I purchased a 12 gauge "riot" gun (18.5 inch barrel, all black, etc) a while back for a very cheap price. The brand says Escort, and it says it's made in turkey. I had some reservations about the brand at first, but it has shot and cycled very well. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Now, I'm looking to add some accessories to this gun (pistol grip and maybe a flashlight), and I'm wondering if 870 or Mossberg accessories would work. Does anyone else have any experience with this shotgun, and could maybe answer this question? Thanks.

Looking at the receiver profile, I doubt any other brand named accessory stocks will fit. Try http://www.hatsan.com.tr/escort_accsessories.asp to see what the company makes available, and contact the US importer, Legacy Sports International, to see what if anything they carry. http://legacysports.com/products/escort/index.html

You should be able to work out some way to attach a white light source, with all the options available in today's marketplace.

Note that imported shotguns, especially inexpensive ones, all too often become 'orphans' as far as parts and accessories are concerned...

Hi Jrp,
escort/ Hatsan are a very popular brand of rough shooting/ waterfowling gun over here in the UK.
The range of accessories however is pitiful. (mainly because it would be illegal to use it for HD)
Word on the grapevine is they are 'cheap & cheerful' kind of gun, almost considerd disposable, use it for 5 yrs or so til it breaks then buy a new one.

yeah, I see lots of options on Hatsan's site, but it doesn't look like any of these are imported

I had one of these and aside from the cheap finish, they worked quite well. Very similar to the 870.

Bad news, they only hold 5 shots, the magazine is crimped. I was told that they cant import them holding more then that. I also tried to get a pistol grip and folding stock for it. It seems that they are sold with the shotgun but cannot be imported alone. Basiclly your SOL. I traded mine in and got something else

Get a Mossberg. Better shotgun, good price, and lots of accessories available. Also not made in Turkey.

If you try and short stroke it the shell leaving the mag can jamb between the two peice lifter. Takes about 10 minutes to strip and clear it. I shoot PSG and newcomers tend to buy them because they are cheap, but they do jamb.
Personally I would suggest you use something more reliable for HD.
