Ever forget that you had bought something?

I just got back into reloading a couple months ago. I still had half of the stuff I got before. I got a new press, a Lee Reloader Breech Lock and for some reason, thought I needed breech lock inserts. Probably because the first set of dies I used didn't have them. I ordered three sets.

By the time they came, I found three un-used sets still in their original boxes, and noticed that three other sets of dies already had them on. Not only did I return the three I bought, but I have some that I need to get rid of.

Last trip to the fun shop, I bought a box of 220 gr. flat point hard cast bullets for 45 ACP. I got home and was looking through my brass and I found several boxes of bullets for 45 ACP. I need to stop trusting my memory from several years back.

I was digging through my closet the other day and found a full, un-opened brick of PMC Moderator 22LR. Don't remember buying them and I think that they quit making them several years ago. It is a shame. They shoot great!

I forgot I bought a registered full auto MP-5 Navy and the Tax Stamp… left it the Attic for 20 years. Wonder how much it’s worth.

Wait am I still dreaming???

I've done it so often I started printing out my invoices and check them before I buy something "I always wanted".

I bought a lot of ammo over the past few years that took too long to deliver and I forgot I ordered it so I ordered more. I now have plenty and can go a few years without any more. Too bad for me but it seems the price of ammo is finally coming down.

Yup, sure have!

You guys and your memories are making me laugh! At you and at myself! ;)

We recently moved and I found several things that I didn't remember buying. New brass, 45 Colt, 44-40, 44 Magnum, 22 Hornet. Bullets, lots of 224 plastic tip varmint bullets, cases of MTM plastic boxes, a few milk crates of lead ingots, some other stuff!

But the move gave me the perfect opportunity to start a spread sheet. Maybe I can remember to use it!

Yep, I think we've all done it.

I have two sets of 45 Colt dies, along with matching shell holders. Probably some other things that I don't remember as well.

Last week I found a third set of 45 Colt dies.

Don't know when I got them or why I had three sets, but my buddy was happy to receive a new, unopened set of dies at no charge.

My memory is fairly good. I remember most everything I have purchased. That is my problem as I wish to hell I could forget about some of the junk I bought ie cheap Lee press etc

CRS is a universal disease. I00% infection rate. :cuss:I noticed it before I retired that I would sometimes walk across my shop to get something and then stand there wondering what I was needing. At least I was usually working alone with no one to notice me standing there with a confused look on my face.

It is progressive.and the older you get the worse it gets. Right now I need a small impact screwdriver that I bought and have no clue where I put it. I'll turn over my garage turned shop, find a number of things I have forgotten about and might, just might, find the screwdriver on the first try. The odds are that I won't. Been there, done that, numerous times.

Cleaning out the closet the other day. came across a taped box labeled 2017-2020. cant for the life of me think of what it was. Turns out i had squirreled away several bricks of primers between those years. must have been doing the old, buy 2, shoot one thing.

I feel for you in the fact that you didn't find anything useful, and had to settle for something crappy like primers............:p:cool:

If you're like me, you'll find another tool you were looking for two days ago, and go work on THAT job, completely forgetting about the job you needed the impact screwdriver for.

there are certainly worse things to find in your closets!

I found a BIG spider the other day. Wasn't in the closet, was in the bathroom. Body was about an inch across. He got the "smudge" test, and I'm happy to say he failed.

I also found some more loaded rounds in my reloading room a couple of days ago. 55 years old and it's already happening.

HB industry CZ scorpion tigger lighting kit. Bought it during Trump election year, still have not shot the gun, just not into semi auto sub guns

375 H&H hornady die set, still has the free bullets sticker. And a pack of brass. Can’t remember why I bought this

and last… Lee Pro 4000… can’t remember WHY I BOUGHT this piece if CRAP

I will buy something, use it, set it somewhere and forget where it is. Then I will have to go out and buy another one… and then I will find the first one right after I’ve opened the packaging and used the replacement. o_O

Stay safe.

I own at least three .30-06 gauge sets. I know I bought them, I remember putting them in the reloading-tools box, I have three drawers set aside just for gauges and they HAVE to be there. I found one. A finished cartridge go-nogo. I really kinda need to find the finished-length gauge but have no idea where it might be. CRS can be very frustrating. :(

Yes, I understand. I alway have problems lighting the tiggers on my scorpions. Have you tried a Zippo?

Within the past hour I was in the "gun zone" section of the basement rooting around for something (now, what was I looking for? hmmm) ... anyway, I happened upon a top-open small corrugated shipping box containing a 6 pack of 20rd AK magazines. Hooray!

I had a vague memory of finding a listing for such online (at an excellent price) pre-pandemic and thought I had ordered some (I love the old 20rd Hungarian "tanker" mags) but had not seen them down there in my wanderings.

Christmas in October. :)

Now I will have to dust off one of the AKs and give them a try. ;)
