Exceptionally soft shooting pistols

My Ruger Single Six in 32 H&R Mag shooting 32 SW Long is the softest shooting pistol I own outside of a .22 rf. It is very close to a 22 rf. I suspect most of the varied 32 calibers are similar. My daughter has shot my 1911 in 9mm for years, but she started with a .22.

Others may disagree but I was really surprised how mild shooting my Springfield Ronin was in 10mm. I had not shot a 10mm pistol before and from reading what so many others wrote I had expected it to be a hand cannon. I actually think the 180s in 10mm are softer shooting than regular .45 acp loads. Maybe doesn't qualify as soft shooting compared to other chamberings but I was very pleasantly surprised and plan to pick up a different model 10mm I recently saw in Commander size.
Depends on which 10mm ammo you’re using.
Federal American Eagle and others are loaded to slightly more than most service/qualification .40S&W. I recently chrono’d some American Eagle at 980fps. Most .40’s runs 950fps (180’s).
Speer Lawman (GoldDot) and Winchester 175gr SilverTip runs 1,180fps or so.
Underwood and Buffalo Bore run 1,330’s or so…
My 155’s are 1,400fps, 200’s 1,200fps.
They aren’t what I would call “soft shooting”.

I loaded some 165 gr .44 Spl TCFP over a light charge of AA #5. They were so soft shooting from my S&W 6.5” Model 629 classic at first I thought they were squibs. Putting 10 shots each through the 629, a 4” Mountain Gun, a 4.2” 69 and a 3” GP 100, I think the bullet-load combo shoots pretty well at 7 yards. :D

Stay safe.

Whatever the shooter feels/perceives it to be.
My wife doesn't like shooting a lightweight or steel 1911 due to weight in 9mm but loves shooting a polymer 9mm such as a G19 or Sig P320 .... even a S&W Shield
