I just heard of this fang face bullet called the "Extreme Shock" at 12 dollars for 5 rounds :what: I can't imagine shooting more than 10 rounds of this off to see if my gun will digest it but is it worth investing in a SD/HD magazine of this ammo? Is it even legal in Michigan?

Problem is with the box o truth review is the fact that they care much more about over-penetration. I'm more worried about whether or not the round causes more trauma than the standard. I've seen some Tube videos and the ammo seemed alot more effective (Extreme Shock blew the watermelon up like a hand grenade and the entire round was recovered from the watermelon and the Winchester Silver Tip HP went in and out and split it into two sections) I just wanted to hear some opinions.

I'll stick with defensive ammo that is proven, like Federal Hydrashocks and Speer Gold Dots.

Extreme shock is mall ninja ammo, and using it in a SD situation can get you killed easily. Don't want to take my word for it?

Find ONE law enforcement agency that uses it, I dare you.

Very true, Box O Truth makes a great point. Says the round is so expensive you cannot shoot enough to see if your gun will feed it properly. Funny, before seeing that I typed that into a post..crazy stuff.

Last but not least of the less tested rounds, how is the PMC Starfire? I hear it's supposed to be like the Black Talon but I cannot imagine ballistics of a PMC will be as good as a Winchester, has anyone tested em out?

Over penetration? How about adequate penetration? A flesh wound is still just a flesh wound no matter how destructive it is. The bullet must be capable of reaching the vitals, otherwise, it's worthless.

Although, I am going to take the advice of using more time tested rounds like Gold Dot I still don't buy the idea that the Fang Face cannot penetrate a human being and put them down...it punched through 11 sheets of dry wall. Maybe I'm ignorant on how fast a HP expands when it hits the human body compared to clogging dry wall but if it can go through 11 sheets...

EDIT: To be fair Josh, after your uh, input I did some research. Now I understand that the Extreme Shock round was designed for air marshals. I guess the idea that a jihad terrorist wont be wearing three layer denim or biker leather. Chances of that here are pretty fair, so when it comes to adequate penetration of tough clothing like leather and three layer denim you are in fact right.

Look on the bright side... If you do get some extreame shock and it penetrates but doesn't expand like Box O' Truth found... You can still scare the BG with your exploding pants.

A standard JHP will go through about 20 pieces of drywall. Which is irrelevant anyway, because drywall is not people. Nor are watermelons people. Extreme shock is nothing but a gimmick. Stick with stuff that penetrates at least 12", though 13"-15" is better.

THis stuff can take down a 747 at 35,000 ft out of Bersa Thunder .380, but it won't penetrate drywall in your house, its the perfect ammo.

This ammo is crap. Their website is loaded with absurdities like this one:
E-Shock rounds are engineered to expend maximum energy into soft targets, turning the density mass into an expanding rotational cone of NyTrilium matrix particles
1) *** is "density mass"? That's just two units of measure stuck together, like "miles gallons" or "weight distance." A totally ridiculous marketing invention.
2) "Expanding rotational cone" violates the laws of physics. Once a bullet fragments its particles head off in a direction tangential to their rotation. The fragments cannot continue to spin around the original bullet axis, so this claim is an outright lie.
3) "NyTrilium matrix particles" sounds like something Captain Kirk would find in the Gamma Quadrant.

They sell because suckers are too lazy to grasp the absurdities in the statements. They use flashy photos and big (but meaningless) words to distract the reader. If a buyer sees a lot of important sounding words and phrases, they will buy the pitch because they doubt their own intelligence.

I’ll be marketing these soon:
Heart Devastator Rounds
These rounds will significantly increase your chances of turning any torso hit into a dramatic heart detonating kill shot. Each bullet separates into six needle fragments upon impact. Once separated, the fragments tumble creating a half-dozen lethal buzz-saw like slivers that churn flesh in their wake as they race towards the heart. There, they slash through the heart muscle causing instant debilitating death.

Heart Devastator Rounds: $15 for a five round pack.

WARNING
Heart Devastator Rounds should only be used in the gravest of circumstances. HDRs should never be used in shoot-to-wound circumstances due to their extreme lethality. Do not use HDRs on household pets.

A good shoot is a good shoot - I've heard that a lot. Still we generally don't walk around with Harry Callihan quotes engraved on Bernard Goetz commemorative firearms with punisher grip panels on our 4 ounce trigger, pinned grip-safety, disabled firing pin block "make my day" handguns. After all, why give freebies to the attorney for the plaintiff?

So why would anyone contemplate carrying something whose marketing would make for such an entertaining PowerPoint presentation to a jury comprised of people that think "explosive" really means .. unh .. "explosive".?

Explosive Entry tactical defense rounds represent the ultimate refinement in lethal bullet technology. The compressed Tungsten-NyTrilium™ Composite fragments upon impact, leaving a wound channel of catastrophic proportions.

Ummm. Yummy.

I try not to live my life in fear of lawyers but I would seriously rather pin my grip safety than load up this stuff. Seriously.

Besides, it looks like the very definition of "all pain, no gain" - it doesn't even seem to work any better in exchange for the higher price and the certainty of being branded a mall ninja by all that know you.

i was bored and my money was lighting my pocket on fire, so......i got a pack in 9x18 to see if they would work with my pa-63's mags:eek:. they wont eat anything but fmj's ususaly, but the orange plastic insert inside the hollowpoint of the ninja rounds made it so that i had no trouble. however, it wouldnt hit a barn at contact range:cuss:. anyone know of better ammo with that same kind/style of hollowpoint? cause 94 grain fmj's dont like to change shape when they hit tissue.

Who'da thunk it?

Pow'RBall for 9X18 Mak: here

I didn't know their line was that extensive.
Probably at any number of CorBon dealers as well.

The new hollow cavity "Mini Ninja Annihilators" actually have a hollow cavity that opens upon entering the torso that releases a miniature ninja that stops the terrorists heart with an exploding heart 5 point Dim Mak Death Touch.:D:eek::neener:
