What's the story on Extreme Shock ammo? Is it good ammo with lame marketing or bad ammo with lame marketing?

Extreme Shock ammo, probably better known as Extreme BS, utter bollocks.

There was another shill who said

We did some tests with it on water melons and unlike ball ammo that makes a neat hole in the melon, a 2 layer drywall "wall" and a 1/2" sheet of plywood behind that, the ES round was completely contained within the watermelon, hollowed out and shredded the first 6 inches of it and moved the 18 pound melon back about 20 inches (the rind was split, the shreds came out the front and the rear rind was intact)

Have these people ever heard of Newtons Laws.

To push an 18 pound melon, from rest back 20 inches would mean that a 180 pound shooters entire body will be shoved back at least 2 inches.

Guess what, unless they are using a 4 bore elephant gun that's not going to happen.....

And the secret recipe probably consists of equal parts Unobtanium and Kryptonite.....

Facing a determined attacker, I'd have about as much faith in Extreme Shock as I would in handgun shotshells. Neither will achieve sufficient penetration.

I read a news story a few weeks back. Some military contractor, seeing a future decline in military spending, is branching out to the high-end commercial bullet market.

We being Americans, how do you sell them ammo no better than average walmart fare but at much higher markups? Packaging and marketing. According to the news story, it is actually working well for them. The story said they are displacing the traditional market leaders like Winchester and Federal big time.

Rumor has it that the next bullet offering from them are packed with mini throwing kitanas. The package cover will have actual ninjas with swords leaping through a fire while sword-chopping an axe murderer.

It's obvious to me, that no one here has actually shot Extreme Shock ammunition. If you had, you would not be posting this stuff.

This is perhaps the best round I have ever used, I carry a .45 1991A1 Colt. It has performed flawlessly for me every time!

i concur with gun slinger .....

EXTREME SHOCK AMMUNITION:

So named for its pricing.

Did you shoot a bad guy with it, and he exploded?

Give Rob some credit! He was attacked by a watermelon. He shot it and found that the first six inches of it were hollowed out and shredded!

Of course you could do the same pretty easily with a spoon, but that wouldn't be nearly as extreme. Nor as shocking.

:p

Please define "performed flawlessly".

The melon could have rolled. It isn't exactly dead weight.

Its a bunch of crap IMHO. I don't care for the ninjas in the marketing materials, and I care even less for the performance of the products. Unless you are an Air Marshall, why would you want such poor penetration. I mean only 6" in a watermelon??? What does that equal in clothed soft tissue... 3-4" tops? I would rather have something that cuts through them like a spear.

If you are an Air Marshall, Glasers already exist... for a bit less $$$.

It's obvious to me that you're only here to shill for ES.

Let's see, you joined the forum today, then proceeded to dig up three old threads about ES ammo, and then post some trivial comment supporting ES. And so far, that is the sum total of your contribution to this community.

Funny... that was the first thing that came to mind when I saw that post.
Can someone say "guerrilla marketing"?
