Eyesight? Am I a bad shot until I fix it?

Well, I saw the Opthamologist again this week--and I am now going to schedule my cataract surgery for January.

My eyes starting have "pre-cataract" symptoms a few years ago--the halo problems. Last year when I would shoot, I was fascinated by the mental gymnastics my brain was doing to resolve a good sight picture. This year, my shooting was distinctly UNenjoyable--and I have really regretted not getting the surgery done last winter.

For me, I will be "a bad shot" until I fix it. Actually, while I no longer can group well--even at 10 yards--but I could still do some combat practice and kind-of enjoy it. (Handguns, 7-10 yards, defense drills). That disappeared about two months ago--so yes, you may find shooting unenjoyable until you get the eyesight fixed.

Eye sight help

Regardless of the eyes condition a front sight which is easily visible, will always make target acquisition easier under any circumstances.

My opinion may be a little bias since I'm the developer of Glow-On, but the fact remains, if I can't see the sights, i cannot hit the target.

Now if we are talking rifles, wit the old plain iron standard, (no dot, marking etc.) this might help:

Hi luminescence, weather resistant, light and heat activated, what is not to like? Given this is no substitution for a red, dot, a scope, tritium , anything, but it has lots of potential, plus is CHEAP:)
